“This is it.” The guardian thought, falling from the cliff above, “This is how my story comes to an end.”
He opened his eyes, his vision dimming and worsening due to his blood loss from the fight.
He redirected his gaze to the top of the cliff, where his smug enemy stood. The look on his face made the hero want to scream, shout, keep fighting, anything...
But he couldn't. He's been thrown off, and now he's going to die, his existence tainted by his one failure.
He tried to calm down. He's not going to give his antagonist the achievement of making him sob.
He shook his head. He's been falling for only a couple of seconds, but his mind was racing.
He couldn't fail them. The kingdom. His village. His friends. Amami.
Everyone who believed in him, everyone who was there for him.
Everyone who loved him.
“No.” He managed to say determinedly in a hoarse whisper.
He reached for his dagger and held it in his hands, gripping onto it as if it was his final shred of comfort.
He tried to focus on the jewels of the dagger, as his blood tainted them a fair crimson.
The dagger started to duly glow.
He mentally nodded, knowing that even if he may not survive, at least the people he fought for would be protected.
“Please... Don’t fail...”
His closed his eyes and took in his final moments.
Other than the overcast sky, the weather was nice. His friends would be racing horses at home.
The sounds of crickets and cicadas made a symphony, one that the children of the village would try to catch.
The air smelled of petrichor and blood. Ignoring the second scent, he thought back to his proposal to Amami.
She said yes, as long as he promised to take her to see the world. He wished he could've been the one to show her.
She deserved everything.
His eyes fluttered enough for him to see how long he has left, and let out a weak sigh.
It was a shame that his life was so short. Twenty-two years. Such an ephemeral.
The ground grew closer.

Name:Rae
Age: 16
Gender: Female pronouns: she/her
Personality: Gentle, sweet, wise, gives good advice, listens to everyone, knowledgeble, innocent and naive at times to the exsitence of evil, tries to see the good in EVERYONE, and she is what people like to call a "gifted child"(So what if she went through a burnout/breakdown? You don't have to do that I'm just mentioning it. The story is up to you) She can be easily tricked and manipulated without even realising it. She hates being vulnerable and distances herself from her emotions.
Appearance: dark skin, cornrow braids with silver strands braided in, soft brown eyes, she is about 5'7" and appears confident about everything to those who don't know her well. She wears hoop earrings which could be anywhere to super tiny to really big. She paints her nails occasionally because she bites her nails often and she wants to break that habit.
Backstory (Optional): She grew up in a household where she had to be perfect otherwise something was wrong with her. She is an only child and her parents are toxic to her and eachother. Nothing else really too special.
Fighter, Healer, Scholar, or Mage?: Scholar
Strengths: She prefers to talk things out as opposed to fighting, she knows what she talks about, she is very good at debating.
Weaknesses: not physically the best, is a people pleaser, tends to get used by others, and easily manipulated. Sometimes she manipulates others without realising it.
Other: she can be shipped with males or females!

Sorry for the delay, my computer crashed and deleted the chapter I was working on. I just got it back, so I'll try to have a chapter out this week, but expect it to be a first draft. Thanks for your patience!
