Chatterbox: Inkwell

Ciara's heart pounded as she ran through the remains of Aurora, her city, her home. It had taken days to get here from the outskirts of the town- they were everywhere. They had taken it all. They had taken her life. She blasted light at the shadow spirits that had taken over Aurora, conserving as much energy as possible. It should've been a foolproof solution- shadows were easily disolved in light. But there were too many. The whole realm had been reduced to a dark, lifeless, lightless place. She looked up at the Lumia Tower, her last hope. Her breathing grew ragged as she climbed the steps, but she kept going. This was her last chance. She needed a Traveler*, the only one that could get to her from another realm. She didn't know if anyone would hear the signal, but as she reached the top of the tower, she gathered all her strength into one final blast. Hitting the golden orb with light, it spread out a signal to wherever the light was, throughout infinite realms. Collapsing with exhaustion, safe in the one place where there was enough light to keep the shadows away, Ciara hoped, wished, prayed that she could be saved. That Aurora could be saved. That the realms could be saved.
