Mission To Mars Solo Write
You flop down on your bed, bored. You’ve read every book on your shelf, twice, you’ve scanned numerous websites and apps on your computer, and you’ve scrolled through your phone for what seemed like hours, with no avail. You sink into the bed and pull the covers over you. Maybe a nap will relieve the boredom.
You’re about to drift off into the heavenly blackness of sleep, when a large book falls off the nightstand next to you, creating a large thud. What was that? You think, flipping the blanket off you with a large sigh. Another book falls, landing perfectly on top of the first. You flinch and hesitantly move over to the books. A third book falls, but you catch it before it can land on the pile. The Complete Ender’s Saga, The title reads. This confuses you. You’ve never owned the whole saga, just the first one, Ender’s game. You look over at the two other books, curious to what you might find. One is titled Star Wars: The Complete Collection, and the other, The Martian. You’ve never owned those, either.
Curiosity overthrowing the confusion, you take the three collections and sit in the basket chair you built; your personal reading nook. You choose The Complete Ender’s Saga, find the second book in the saga, and settle in, attempting to immerse yourself in the world of Ender. But the words aren’t there. Only a blank page, holding a neatly folded, crisp white paper. You slide it out of the page protector and unfold it. The paper is empty. No words, ink, colors. Nothing. Deflated, you cast the paper aside, and flip through the empty pages of the book you were trying to read.
Suddenly, a bright light flashes in front of your eyes, temporarily blinding you. You feel the sheet of paper rise from beside you, floating towards the center of the room. The light grows brighter and then flickers out, taking your lamp light with it. The paper is gone, the only remnants of it is a glowing, pixelated, blue outline. There is a brief static, then a steady whir. You stare at it, unable to look away. The outline begins to shift, and before you know it, there is a face before you. A holographic face, that is.
“Hello, Listener.” They say, their voice monotonous. “You have been selected to join a crew of astronauts on our first ever voyage to Mars. We know of your boredom. We can help you. With us, you will be able to explore beyond the confines of Earth. You will go on to places that some will never even get to dream of. All for the cost of nothing but your presence. If you choose to come, there will be a form waiting for you to sign, after our departure. Bring only the necessities in your packing. The rest will be provided for you. Once you fill out the form, you will be escorted to our launch site and trained accordingly. We hope to see you there.”
The hologram disappears without waiting for a response, and like promised a form along with a pen flutters down into your lap. You scan over it. Going to Mars has been something you’ve always dreamed of. You uncap and recap the pen about five times before actually putting it on the paper and begin to fill out the form.

I really like this idea! I also like that I don't have to write anything because I always end up forgetting XD. I was wondering if I could be gender fluid, where I would change my gender every day, and you would be able to choose what gender I was. If not you can just call me they/them.

Age (Somewhere between the 15-25 range would be nice): 16
Gender/Pronouns: They/Them/Gender fluid
Long, Thorough, Appearance: very yellow skined. 5.5 and small footed. Short black hair swiped in front of her eye to one side of my face with the other side shaved. A light dusting of freckles and squinted purple eyes. Almost always wearing a black tanktop/croptop and a light blue jean jacket. Riped light blue jeans and black converse. Very rugged and old clothes.
Personality in 10 words: Introverted, quiet, although rough, can be sweet with those they love.
Luggage: Rainbow flag, Saxophone and sheet music, a few changes of clothes, old chromebook laptop, a picture frame too faded to see the photo inside, a set of acrylic paints, a sketchbook, colored pencils a copy of "Where the Red Fern Grows" and a copy of "The Art of Racing in the Rain" (She loves sad books about dogs dying)
Favorite Food: Kimchi but really anything spicy or cabbage related.
Favorite Color/Least Favorite Color: Fave color is black, and they hate all shade off pink especialy hot pink.
What would you do with zero gravity?: Act like they were too cool to be jumping around but secretly longing to mess around with it.
How do you react to being left behind?: They would be fine with it, they spend a lot of time alone any way, and would even enjoy being alone.

Gender/Pronouns: female, she/her
Long, Thorough, Appearance: Tall and slim. Pale skin, pale white-blonde hair that is pulled to the side in two pigtails that make her look younger than she really is, and dark violet-blue eyes. Freckles dot the bridge of her nose, and her face is in a near-permanent soft, kind expression. Her hands are nimble, swift, and long-fingered. She's wearing a maroon pair of leggings, a flowy-sleeved off-white shirt with a low, square neckline, tight black fingerless gloves, and pale pink Vans.
Personality in 10 words: Introverted, shy, kind, intelligent, quiet, lonely, warm, artsy, curious, studious

Long, Thorough Appearance: Olive skin, fairly tall and lanky, long legs. They have brown eyes, a small nose, and a perpetual grin. Their hair is in a pixie with an undercut, and the top is dyed magenta. They usually wear bright blue sneakers, leggings, t-shirts in bright colors, and a patched denim jacket.
Personality in 10 Words: Fun, witty, talkative, adventurous, energetic, friendly, loud, opinionated, daring, spontaneous.

Gender/Pronouns: Female, she/her
Long, Thorough, Appearance: Tall, muscular, and very fit. She has amber eyes, short purple hair, and light brown skin. She usually wears workout clothes like leggings, tank tops, and t-shirts, but she does have a rainbow sweater that she loves and wears occasionally. She likes to doodle on her hands and arms.
Personality in 10 words: Kind, calm, usually laid-back but will stand up for her beliefs
Luggage: Her phone and computer, bubble gum, earbuds, a water bottle, her aforementioned favorite sweater, and a notebook and pens.

What would you do with zero gravity?: Try to do floating gymnastics. She’s not very good at gymnastics in normal gravity, and has always wondered what it would be like in zero gravity.

Long, Thorough, Appearance: Short spiky hair, naturally black, but dyed white at the tips. Brown eyes, pale skin, tall for their age. Loves wearing black and other dark colors, and they are always wearing a necklace of some kind.
Personality in 10 words: Kind, obediant, loyal, brave, sarcastic, patient, athletic, distrusting (to strangers)
Luggage: Any supplies they may need, clothes, flashlights, batteries, radio, notebook, pencils, compass (do compasses even work on Mars?) an array of necklaces, chargers, etc etc.
Favorite Food: Hates spicy things, loves mac & cheese.
Favorite Color/Least Favorite Color: Favorite is navy blue, least is anything neon.
What would you do with zero gravity?: They would probably clip themselves to a chair and hold on tight.
How do you react to being left behind?: Wait for the others to return, probably putting too much faith into them. Loyal to the end.
Are you a Leader or a Follower?: I think of Sam as a second-in-command type person. They help they leader keep order and pretty much do whatever they say, but only if Sam is 10000% sure they can trust the leader. Once they do, Sam is loyal, maybe too much so for their own safety.
