We just lost

We just lost one of our baby foster kittens. The little grey one, Smokey. We don't know what happened or anything. My mom found him almost dead on the floor, and by the time he was at the humane society, he was gone. I found out when I came home from school. He was just fine when I went to school... I know this has nothing to do with writing, but I wanted to tell you guys.

Thanks. We now have 4. We thought we were gonna loose the calico, Hope, last night, but we didn't!!! She was with a woman that had saved tons of kitten's lives!! She saved a batch of kittens that were so close to dead, they had maggots on them!! So, Hope made it through the night, and so did the 3 others, Mei Xing (or Mei (pronounced May) ), Puggles, and Prince. I'm still really sad about Smokey, but when I got home from school today and my mom told me Hope and the others were fine, I felt ..... incredible.... even incredible doesn't explain it well enough...

That's really sad, Emma. :( I'm sorry about that. I'm glad all the others are okay, though. *sad smile*
...My brother's fish just died. :P He was not a happy first grader for a day or so.

Oh, no!  It's always horrible to lose any living creature, ecspecially a baby.  I hold a special place in my heart for animals, so I empathize.  When our dog, Reggie, passed away, it was horrible.  We had to put him to sleep, because he was in so much pain, it would have been selfish to let him live.  That day was the first time I remember seeing my mom cry.  So I understand what it's like to lose a pet.  I hope that all of the other kittens stay healthy.

I'm sorry to hear that. I love animals, especially cats.  I have three cats at home, but two of them are rather fat.

Thanks, you guys! *grateful smile* It is really sad, but it helps having the other kittens there. We got them back yesterday. They checked out Smokey's body *sniff* and found that he had fluid around his heart and that was why he died. *sniff sniff* We couldn't have stopped it. It was probably congenital, which means he was born with it. They the all the kittens at the Humane society besides Hope. Hope was with this really amazing lady named Ann. She has saved tons of kittens! One batch of kittens was so close to being dead, they already had maggots on them, but she saved them! She has Hope for at least the weekend. She's keeping a 24/7 watch on Hope. I'm pretty bummed she isn't with me, but I'm really glad she has a trained vet (Ann) with her...
