Hi everyone!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Hi everyone!

Hi everyone!

So, I'm building a world for a story I'm working on. It's called Elleburg, and is a little town surrounded by forest. Anyway, I'm not even sure what this is, but basically, if you lizards make characters, I'll add them to my story. AND if you all do a roleplay, I'll add the roleplay into either a story or a guide to Elleburg!

So, I guess this is a RP.

Basically, make your characters and do whatever. But first, I'll tell you a little bit about Elleburg.

For starters, it's really undeveloped. Which means, you can add stores and houses and idk whatever, secret passageways, randomness. I'll include them on the Elleburg map.

Besides that, Elleburg is just a pretty normal little town. There's a coffee shop, Make the Roast of It (that's what my MWW story is about!) which is basically the only coffee shop. There's a house on the hill, and inside of it, there's the mayor's daughter (except the mayor is dead.) but stay away from that topic please because I'm already writing about it.

Some characters you can't RP but can include in your RPing:

Bessie and Jesse Hillman, 14-yr-old twins, kids of dairy farmers and the nicest people around. These are like the main characters in the story I'm writing.

Ok just now I realized I should probably post the story I'm working on here occasionally as part of the roleplay. Look lizards I literally had this idea like 10 minutes ago. But ok I will post parts of what I'm writing here sometimes, which can help the RP.

Ok I'm all scatterbrained right now, so soon I can probably get more details. For now, here's a charrie sheet! (I almost wrote charrie street. Like...what? XD)

I'd love to help!  One question, though.  Can you tell me how this works?  I am new to Chatterbox and still figuring this out.  I love to write stories and help fellow writers too though!

Of course! Basically, how a RP works is everyone who joins makes a character. Then you basically write from the perspective of your character and everyone works together to make the story! (Credit to the Ultimate Guide)

Speaking of the Ultimate Guide, if you haven't already read it, read it! It's incredibly helpful and cleared everything up for me:

I hope that link works.

For now, all you have to do is make a character!

Just a question, what genre is this roleplay? It seems like realistic fiction, but it might be something else. Thanks!

...that is a good question owo

It's kinda fantasy, kinda realistic fiction. Charries don't have magic powers, bUt there's like talking animals, a kinda magical woods, and there could be enchanted things. I'd say basically realistic fiction, but with twists of fantasy.

OK EVERYONE

it's 8 am and we all know I'm a morning person (spoiler: I'm not) so it's time to get my ideas together and actually make what's happening here clear.

You live in a town. It's surrounded by enchanted woods, which are usually safe. In fact, no one has left Elleburg for ages, because it's so safe and gives you everything you need. But what happens when some adventurous kids decide they want to go see the world?

You and your friends basically have control over this whole thing...you can make whatever you want happen. There might be guiding questions occasionally, and plot twists, though. You can make it realistic fiction, or come crazy fantasy thing. Whatever you want!

Another thing to add to the sheet is you can have a talking animal companion and a special talent. Here's the updated charrie sheet:

Special talent (drawing, acting, a certain sport, etc.):

I'm also just going to post chapters of a story I'm writing here :)

Name: Emerald "Em"

Pronouns: she/her

Appearance: In the picture

Personality: She's introverted and shy, even with people she knows really well. Despite that, she's really kind. She LIVES for tea and hates coffee. Super sweet stuff is horrible, but a little bit of sweetness in moderation is okay.

Special talent (drawing, acting, a certain sport, etc.): Writing and poetry

Shipping: Maybe? She's not super eager to ship but... maybe. With boys around her own age.

Animal companion?:  A tan-and-white male ferret named Whipped Cream, or Cream for short.

Other: She loves to read and she is an animal lover. She also likes to spend time with little kids.

I probably won't create a charrie but I wanted to add something to the story, so I'm going to make some folklore/urban legends for Elleburg. Feel free to alter these if anything doesn't match with how you've imagined the world, or to add on to them if you have new ideas. That's how oral myths are created anyway, growing and changing slightly as they are passed from person to person!

(I'm going to assume there's a school.)

So, there's this big tabby cat that hangs around the school. It never lets anyone pet it, hisses a lot, and no one's ever heard it speak, so kids at school say that it's evil. It probably belongs to the person who lives nextdoor to the school, in a small house, but students say it lives in a secret  dungeon in the basement of the school. The kids have niicknamed it "Crabby Tabby" or "Crabs" for short.

There's also a park in Ellesburg with a playground. Among the trees growing in and around the park is a lone apple tree, famed among locals (especially children) as a good luck charm. The story goes that many years ago, a child's mother was sick in the hospital. The child brought her an apple from the tree to eat since they were her favorite fruit, and after eating it she rapidly became better. So now it is said that the person who eats the first apple from the tree each fall will have good luck the whole next year. Many people also put blossoms from the tree in bouquets givem to friends and family who are sick in the hopes that they will get better quickly.

Hope you like the myths! I might make more later if I think of any.
