Copy and pasted that from the Averno Bible XD. This roleplay is set in the New School–a plot of land bought by a private investor in 1971, and transformed into a 19th century castle recreation. There are seven departments: Cults and mysteries, lost histories, dead languages, hidden sequences, higher powers, creation and destruction, and unconfirmed existence.
If you'd like to join this but you have absolutely no idea what Averno is, I suggest you read the Averno Bible if you want a detailed concept of what it is, or just jump in headfirst and figure it out along the way. XD

This is probably a bad idea considering my school workload, but we're getting a blue light screen cover for the computer, so at least it won't hurt my eyes. Anyway, this character is based on one I made for some boarding school RP I joined way back and then kinda forgot about, but they would be perfect for A New School!
Name: Mellie (might change this name, any suggestions?) Amberton
Age: 18, since ig they have to be in college for this.
Personality: Introverted, but not super shy. They joke around a lot with their friends, but aren't the best with people, although they do care about them. Really weird, smart, and has a lot of quirks and obbsessions. Very protective of their younger brother Carson, who is 12.
Appearance: Brown fluffy hair, shaved on one side and chin-length on the other. Caucasion, freckles and green eyes. Medium height and stocky build. Wears a lot of green, natural colors, and practical clothing.
Occupation/Department:...lost histories? it's hard to decide.
Other: They're nonbinary (biologically female) and use they/them pronouns.

Hi Abell! Welcome to the CB! I'm not sure if you know this already or not, so sorry if you do, but in a solo write people usually submit the form for their character, not themselves, so I'm actually female and she/her, but my character is they/them! I'm just letting you know since your charrie has the same name as you. See you around!
Oh, and there are 3(?) nonbinary CBers (Kitty Cat, Nightfall, Jubilee)!
Now, while I'm here I need to add a couple things to my charrie: Mellie loves to hike, cares a LOT about nature, and is very interested in folklore and stuff like that. They're really good with animals too, and are one of the youngest people in A New School, as they turned 18 over the summer. They often seem closed off with new people, but will sometimes randomly blurt out things, making them come off as a bit weird, but with friends they're quite different.
Uhhh I'm thinking of changing their Department, maybe to Mysteries? I'll update when I'm feeling more decisive.

Thanks for helping! I was aware of it, i decided to make my charrie AFAB enby like me because that's what I'm most comfy doing. Same with the name, I'm making it the same as my chosen name so i don't forget.

Forgot to mention a tidbit of exciting info, Averno's canon is entirely made up of fanon, so technically, we're writing canonical content for Averno :p exciting, eh?

I'm so excited!! I'm really vibing with this rp, I think it's going to be fun.
Name: Abi Maywood
Age: 19
Personality: Spunky, kinda sarcastic, has a rebellious streak, but also has a soft spot for her friends. Procrastinates literally everything, has no focus, and will alternate between pure genius and “what are words”. Passionate about their beliefs, will go on rants about tiny and/or random things, super supportive of everyone. Loves tea and anything chocolate.
Appearance: Shoulder-length purple hair, brown eyes, kinda short, caucasian, has a nose piercing, has a tattoo of a purple quill on their left shoulder and a sword on their right ankle. Usually wears crop tops, ripped jeans, and a leather jacket, along with jewelry and eyeliner.
Occupation/department: Department of Creation and Destruction! On the Creation side, she’s working on her novel (well, in theory), along with a dozen other side projects. She also enjoys blowing things up with the Destruction kids in her free time.
Residence: The DCD Barn I guess? I have the Averno Bible pulled up haha

Name: I'll figure this out later :)
Age: 18 (that's the age of a college freshman, right?)
Personality: She loves riddles, math problems, and coding challenges, especially the satisfaction that comes from finally solving a hard one. Numbers are her escape when life gets hard, and she'll plunge herself into math whenever the world gets overwhelming. Unlike many other DHS students, she isn't a musician, but she loves to listen to upbeat music of pretty much any genre. She's pretty introverted, but she can talk on and on about what she's passionate about.
Appearance: She's average height, kind of chubby, and white. Her hair is short and dyed bright pink, which nicely compliments her big, round black glasses. She almost always wears a comfy black sweatshirt, under which you can see brightly colored shirts peeking out, on top of ripped jeans (not too ripped, though) and combat boots.
Occupation/department: Hidden sequences, since that's one of mine and we already have a lost histories charrie :)
Residence: The DHS factory
Other: If we're doing shipping, she's open to ship with students of any gender!

Personality: Terribly, terribly shy and awkward. She has no friends to speak of, so she spends her time immersed in codes. She loves patterns, cryptography, and psychoanalysis, and anything that involves categorizing and ordering messy, complicated systems like language and the human mind. She will analyze her own dreams (and everyone else's, but only in her head) and she's extremely superstitious. She's also vegan.
Appearance: Black hoodies. All. The. Time. Jeans, furry boots in the winter, sneakers in the summer. Bright blue eyes, pale skin, freckles, straight shoulder-length jet-black hair (but no one can tell if it's natural or if she dyes it).
Occupation/department: Department of Cults and Mysteries!
Residence: I guess the DCM cottage? I don't know, I just looked it up.
Other: She/her. Open for shipping with any gender, but haha good luck breaking her out of her shell!
