For anyone who's

For anyone who's ever tried writting a novel (like me)

Has anyone tried writting a real book? Not the one everyone has done in 2nd grade. I mean a real book . If no one else has, thats ok. I'm on attempt #5 and could use some advise. Kudos, strawberri. P.S. What are you trying to write about?

Detail. A lot of detail is important. I am writing about a end-of-the-world kind of thing.

I am trying to write a book, but I AM SO STUCK I GIVE UP!!!! One of my recent ones was going great, but my KITTENS KNOCKED IT INTO A PILE OF VOMIT!!!! The book's ok, but I'm not writing in that thing until I find a way to get the smell off of it.

@Admins is it ok if I say who my characters are in my book, even though they are real people?

Please don't submit the names of real people as your characters.

Oh, and also I have my two D's and my one A: Detail, Dialogue, and Action. LOTS of action. I can't tell anyone what I'm writing about, because it's kinda, personal.

One of the most important things about writing is persistance! I have tried writing so many books, only to give up; not because I thought the idea was bad, but rather because I got tired of writing. It's OK to take a break, but be careful about taking too long of a break because when you go back... you'll end up restarting the book because you realize how bad it is.

Also, the reason why you're writing is important! Don't just write because you think that's what you should be doing, write because it's fun!

And lastly, my sister is in the middle of editing her first "real novel" and although it's good she doesn't like it as much as some other pieces she's written, because she was trying to make this book into something she thinks everyone will want, instead of what she wants to do.
(Does that make sense?)

So, good luck in your novel! I know it's a hard process, but I know you can do it!

Thank you, Moonfrost! That's a lot of good advice, and i really should take it to heart, especially the persistance part. Thanks again, Strawberri.

Make your dialogue sound real, not like

"Hello Patsy, how are you doing today Patsy?"

"I am doing well, thank you Bettsy"

Writing a book is hard, but dont give up!
