I have been thinking about writing a book that I will call The Slate Piano.
Basically, two siblings (male and female) move into a new town with their mother (father is divorced). Then there is a murder, and the siblings get dragged into the mystery of the ominous Slate Piano. (I haven't decided how yet.)
There is also this spooky stalker guy with a minion. I haven't decided what to call him yet... The Stalker? Nope. The Watcher? Mmm... maybe. The Devourer? Maybe. The Firebender? Ooh, that one could be good.
But he and his minion are trying to get to the Mineral Instruments to unleash... evil... you know the drill. I haven't decided on the details of the "evil" bit yet.
There is also a resistance called The Force. They can do magic and are kinda like the Astromancers from The Mysticons, if you've watched that show.
But I just wanted to shere this idea. This may also become a series if I like the first book. So far, I've come up with The Obsidian Harp (meh) and The Silver/Diamond Flute (both sound too pretty).

That sounds like a great book! You should definitely post at least part of it on CB when you think you're ready. I, for one, would love to read it. That sounds like exactly the sort of thing that I love to read, and, from your description, at least, you sound like a pretty good writer.
I think that is you end up writing the book with the flute title, you should probably go with The Diamond Flute, since most flutes are silver. Calling it the Diamond Flute would make it more unique and compelling.
