Meercats
Meercats
Technically awake but merely sitting in the dark
Looking through the window,
letting your thoughts run everywhere;
in every direction, but
You are-
You're sure-
awake.
Your mind is here and there, you don't think about your thoughts.
whoosh-
A car drives by, you shake your head
You notice the most recent sentence
To grace your mind was:
"In the heat, our swords become intelligent"
It makes no sense within your context;
it might make sense without the context;
You found yourself buried deep in nonsense,
Buried alive in a heap of bombast by a mind about to go to sleep
Ten minutes later you try to verbalize
the time ten minutes before
When you caught yourself between awareness and the world of unaware-
"You found yourself buried deep in nonsense",
but the original sentence has vanished,
no longer there.
The one which called you, found you, dragged you back to reality.
something about heat, something about swords?
something about wisdom, something about death...
You invent a relevant example for a free-verse poem-
"but the original sentence has vanished",
no longer there, like a
meercat
diving back into his hole.
