Dark, so very
Chatterbox: Inkwell
Dark, so very
Dark, so very dark. Quiet too. Pinpoints of stars slowly pricked the black sky-wool, bu the moon was new. Two silent figures stood there, embracing the silence, the blackness. They didn’t glow. The quiet breeze flitted about the dark grass and the distant trees.
“Is this it then?”
“I think so.”
”And what of the guard?”
”Who can guess? If greater powers reveal it, or nay, let it be. Our time is no longer here.” A the glowing edges of a door appeared before them and, without another word, they stepped through.

~Deep now, on the edge of late memory stands an golden chamber
There lies a great trove of feathers,
large and small,
soft and bristly,
patterned and gray
Two cloak’d friends finally arrived
and ascended the golden elevator
that yet retains its veins of silver
and behind left they a new feather
a feather of brown
the feather of
a kiwi bird.~

Alone we sit, staring at the mound. Feathered friends gone by, and now we add to it. I place my own feather with Kiwi's. We turn to each other, knowing it is done. The One of Blue is free, and their feather rests with ours.
"So is this it, then? The end of our story?" I ask, tears choking my silver throat. "Kiwi... I shall miss this... Where will you go?"

I will stay
Forever in the hearts of two friends
But forever anywhere else
Still, stars do fade
Though they live in long light

Ah, thank you! I don’t know if I’ve ever heard that of my writing before. Perhaps we will. This is not the start of a beginning, but rather a beginning to an end so in ending we can start, or something to that effect.
This is the capstone of the sporadic trilogy epic narrative poem role play (say that 3 times fast!) of Kiwi: The feather from the jay, The glimmer in the dark, and The seeker of the stars. Or at least, that’s what I like to call it. I’m sure Silver has a much less narcissistic name for it, maybe. But anyway, this could be an end, or simply the end of a beginning. An introductory trilogy that preludes our other adventures.
What are your thoughts, majestic beast?

It would bring my much joy to continue our adventures.

Your poetry is beautiful! (also is this related to the feathers from the birds thread from a few months ago?)
