What is everyone's favorite type of book?  I really like fantasy, fiction and sci-fi.  I don't enjoy practical books very much because there boring for my taste.

Writing or reading, d'you mean?

Hmm, I like all kinds, but my favorites are probably fantasy, historical fiction, and things set in the middle ages or involving royalty. I find things like that fun to read. :) And probably lots more that I can't think of right now... :\

Oh, and I like ghost stories. It's fun to tell those. XD

I rather enjoy fantasy and science fiction. I do enjoy well-written nonfiction (that is, if it doesn't read like a list of facts and/or it's very interesting, I enjoy it... For example a 1000+ page book on the Victorian style of interior decorating I ate up in a matter of days... Love... anyway...).

I'm not a big fan of realistic fiction. Occasionally there'll be something I enjoy but most of the time it's just meh.

And I do love classic literature. My current obsession is Sherlock Holmes. <3.

Oh well, I'll guess you mean reading. I like fantasy, and realistic fiction that isn't candy... most of the realistic fiction I read is crime/mystery, etc. Not so much nonfiction... never romance. And I'm beginning to like sci-fi, as well.

Agreed on Sherlock Holmes.

I thought I was the only girl in the world who liked nonfiction! However, it's not too high up on my list of favourite genres. I'll read just about anything, really.

I tried him, and I thought he was just a bit too dull. *am prepared for loud protests*

Well, the Victorian style of fiction is a bit of an acquired taste... I think you're missing out, though.

This is assuming you're talking about Holmes, of course.

Kind of OT but not: Can't wait for the Holmes movie. It looks good, though it also looks like the screenwriters have never read Sherlock Holmes... *shrug*

Holmes rocks. He's way too cocky for my taste as a character, but the stories are cool.

Oh, Holmes is definitely the embodiment of a Bunny Ears Lawyer. *nodnod*

Strange... my comment got zapped. I was sure there was nothing wrong with it. Oh well.

Anyway, I love realistic fiction and cannot stand fantasy with some exceptions (ie, Harry Potter). Sorry to fantasy fans... I just can't get into it.

I enjoy fantasy and realistic fiction. But I cannot stand non-fiction. It drives me crazy for some reason. Maybe it's because we read a lot out of our textbooks at school, :P
