*Sigh *I know you are all bored by reading my pathetic attempts at poetry, so here're some more. YAY!!! tell me what ya think.
Why do the waves pull you in
only to kick you out?
The rabid foam on the oceans snout
Is enough to show it will bite and nip
If the salt stings your eyes and you
fall and slip
Don't you think you should run away?
Why do the wave pull you in
And keep you in a strong embrace
While sand gets in every place
You swim around a little more
And then you swim back to the shore
I'd take the ocean any day
AND!!!!!!
Come with me
take my hand
do not slip
stay on land
in the water there be beasts
Climb the wall
into the cave
watch your step
please be brave
quiet or they'll hear you
Save me
I'll pretend I'm dead
Use your magic powers
Use your head!
I wanna stop playing pretend
let's go home.
So that's that. Are these better for the contest, ya think?

I thought it was great! Haikus are another type of poem that I can't seem to write well. I can write decent free-verse poems, but anthing else... no.
I loved both of your poems, Jen! I often feel exactly how you described in the first poem...

We should start a club for depressed people!! I'm glad you like my writing. And @Adina- You should see some of the stuff on MB, they split up even words!

Erm, *gulp* U no, I'm no sure of that either, sooo, I can't reallly say. She's sick today, btw. Which is sad, cuz this is our last chance to go to homeschool group at the park, but we can't go. Which means I prob'ly won't see my friends there untill next summer at the most.

really, I apalogize but I do not get how splitting up words are haikus. Phrases maybe words no. see how weird itturns out?

I loved the ocean one!!! It was really good! :) We go to the ocean usually every summer for a week as a family trip.
