A dark figure sat at the end of a long table, seated atop a throne made of polished white quartz and shimmering sapphires. Her eyes were sad...but narrowed in a queenly sort of way. "Friends," she began, looking over the four other leaders gathered around her, on thrones less adorned and lower than hers. "A time of great sorrow is coming upon our Empires. My Sage has predicted a darkness coming to consume our empires. The FIve Empires, the Empires that have been around longer than our great great ancestors, then any ruler we have met snout-to-snout."
The creature on the Amethyst throne barred his teeth. "How can we trust your Sage? She predicted a peaceful end to the War of Power, that if we all surrendered to you then no more lives had to be given. We surrendered to you, Emperor, but blood was lost still." His teeth glinted in the light of the torches around them as his yellow eyes narrowed rebelliously.
The Emporer made a tisking sound through her teeth. "Prophetic skills can be... misleading and vague at times. Yes, you surrendered, but it was not my warriors who shed blood. It was the Outcasts." Her face darkened and she drew her head away dramatically. "I should have seen the signs then! Maybe there wouldn't be need for these... drastic measures now."
Claws tapped on the table as a cat, with blood-shot eyes, growled impatiently, "And what are these drastic measures? Every moment I spend here with you, another bomb goes off, more lives are lost." The Rose-quartz throne groaned as the striped cat shifted her weight.
The dark creature sitting at the end of the table gave her a stone-hard glare, for merely a second, before regaining her poster and booming, "we must find the Five Jewels."
The room got deathly still. The tiger's claws stilled. "Are you insane?!" Hooves crashed down on the table so loud it made the tiger jump. "For thousands of years, our Empires have been trying to recover these stones. Thousands of years! Not once was anyone even close to success. During the last war, I doubt none of you didn't send out an animal to try and trace yours down as your kingdom was falling. These Jewels are meant for a time when everything else fails! Let's not get ahead of ourselves before we risk the lives of another 10 young animals."
The dragon smirked. "But everything else has failed. I-,"
"How?!" Demanded a young animal with glossy war-free fur from atop a jade throne. "We can defeat them as we've defeated every other rebellious Outcast group. With bombs, spies, traitors, it won't be long until they retreat. We are strong, even if our land is still scared with war. And I hate to point this out, but most are from your Empire. Most are dragons."
The dark dragon Queen barred her fangs and tried to keep a calm tone. "Which makes them even more dangerous, Xerocole. You more then anyone should know what dangers each one holds." The wild dog pressed back her ears and looked away.
"Now." The dragon queen began, her tongue sliding over her fangs as her eyes studied the leaders around her, the leader's under her control. "At the new moon, each will pick two children, 16, to be the new Finders of the Jewel. You will bring them to me by morning the next day, or your Empires will have... some ransom to pay by nightfall. These children will set off, following the ancient map. They will find the Rose Elephant of the Empire of the Trees, the Amethyst Dolphin of the Empire of the Sea, the Jade Cat of the Empire of the Sand, the Silver Wolf of the Empire of the Rock, and most importantly the Dimond Dragon of the Kingdom of the Sky. They will battle the beasts that guard them, and the obstacles that protect them. For the good of the Five Empires, I believe they will succeed. It was foretold that they will succeed, and bring a stop to the darkness that is corrupting our home." She looked over the gathered animals, who mostly looked annoyed or frightened. The crocodile, the wild dog, the tiger, and the moose, all holding such power and respect, all under her control, all forced to follow her commands. "Dismissed."

Okay! Here is my Solo Write! It was an idea that was running through my head so I was like, why not? Also, I'm a procrastinator who always loves an excuse to put hw off to the last moment! That being said, I'm a busy person and may or may not be able to update regularly.
For those of you who didn't read that, here is a little explanation (plus some)
- The Empires are the Empire of the Sea, the Empire of the Rock, the Empire of the Sand, the Empire of the Trees, and the Empire of the SKy. All have their own characteristics, but we'll get to that in a moment.
- The Empire of Sky has taken over the other four Empires in the war known as the War of Power. It began with the Empire of Sky wanting to take over the other four, and then the other four fighting back, and then the Empire of Sky turning the four against each other, ultimately resulting in the Empire of Sky as victor, and supreme ruler of the other Four.
- The Five Jewels are extremely powerful relics that are said to be able to give an Empire supreme power and superiority and peace, if used correctly. The Dragon Queen (as she calls herself) hopes these relics will chase away the Outcasts and protect all five Empires from Rebellion, war, corruption, and darkness.
- The Outcasts are creatures who have been exiled from the Empires and live in the barren land around them. They have formed almost a terrorist like group and are slowly tarring the Empires up from the inside. These Outcasts usually include hybrids of various Empires. Usually of the dragon-type.
Mkay! Sorry this is so long you can probably skip over most of this, look at the charrie sheet, and then come back and read everything you need to know for your character.
The Empire of the Trees- Usually Jungle/ Forest animals, like tigers, deer, birds of paradise, capybaras, elk, etc. Their territory stretches from small, colder forests to larger, denser forests, to rainforests. Their colors are pink and gold and their stone is Rose Quartz. Their Emperess is Temperate the Siberian Tiger.
The Empire of the Sea- You guessed it, sea creatures. Also, freshwater creatures, they own a bit of territory inland where there is a lot of swamps and marshes and lakes. Uninhabited land to any other Empire, although there was a war over it with the Empire of Trees at some point long ago. Their colors are dark purple and blue and their stone is an Amythist. Their Emperor is Cove the Salt-water Crocodile.
The Empire of the Sand- Desert animals, includes scorpions, jackals, cougars, antelope, camels, and rattlesnakes. They have the most territory of all the empires, although most is uninhabitable, and they gain new territory from Empires with growing desserts every year. They also drop the deadest territory to the Outcasts, when not even them want to live in such scorching heat. Their colors are light greenish-yellow and fire red, and their stone is a Jade. Their Emperess is Xerocole the Wild Dog.
The Empire of Stone- Mountain and tundra animals, including wolves, polar bears, reindeer, bison, marmots, and hawks. Their territory is the most far north, and there have been fights over forests at the edge of their territory, and higher mountains and land. Their colors are brown and grey, and their stone is silver. Their Emporer is Altitude the Moose.
The Empire of Sky- Dragons. Dragons of any type at all. This is the only Empire with powers like prophecy (You can come up with others but I must approve it). Their territory was the tallest mountains and valleys, the closest land they can get to the sky. Often have the least amount of territory, and as their ranks expanded, this was a key factor of the start of the War of Power. Now 'Guards' litter the rest of the Empire's land, as dragons who are more comfortable with the different ecosystems move away. Their colors are black and white, and their stone is a diamond. The Emporer, or as she calls herself, the Queen of Dragons, is named Queen Illuminate. (Her powers include blending into the night, breathing lightning-like fire, flying with wings said to spark with blue energy, have claws said to give an electric shock when encountered, and a roar as loud as thunder)
Rules-
1. You can only have one character.
2. There will be two 'chosen' from each Empire. If these spots fill up, you can make an Outcast charrie and I promise I'll work them into the story.
3. Please no OP dragon characters. Queen Illuminate is the most OP anything's going to get.
4. This is a Solo wright. BUT your characters can keep journals and write their thoughts down (or what they'll think will happen next/ should have happened) and I'll keep it in mind.
5. Everyone's 16. Also please follow the character traits of your Empire. And for the Empire of the Sea, please pick a creature that can walk. Just makes things easier. (Also all the creatures age the same in this world)
6. I'll reveal the Jewel legend and map and thing latter, and why 10 16yr olds have to set off to find them and the beasts guarding them etc. And why they were unsuccessful before. Any why they were sent out during the last war if that was unclear.

Could I use a Wyvern, since they are the cousin of dragons and the only difference is that they have only two feet and their wings are where their arms should be? If so....

Species: Wyvern (Is it dragon enough?)
Empire: The Empire of Sky
Appearance: Blue scales with light blue underscales, two birdlike legs (like an eagle), no arms. Short. about the size of a 4 year old child. Wings have light blue skin and hooked talon.
Personality: He's shy, but caring. Has a love for simple things and knowledge. He tries to be brave at the very least but most times in a dangerous situation. He's absolutely terrified. Due to his Wyvern nature though, he would fight in a fight or flight (lol) event. Is very persistent.
How you reacted when chosen (if chosen): He was surprised. Even a little humbled how he was chosen to be a part of a team to get the stones.
How you would react to someone you hated deeply: He's no one to spread ill will but that doesn't mean he won't blast them in the face if provoked.
You in a good mood: ? I'm guessing you mean if the character is usually in a good mood. Well yes. He likes the simple things in life and doesn't ask for much. Which is why his horde even for his age is small and contains things of little value like spoons and pennies and books and rarely any gems and gold coins.
Hopes and dreams?: To prove his value and obtain as much knowledge as he can.
Are you secretly afraid to do this?: More than anything. He's worry he'll screw it up somehow.
Background: Wyverns and Dragons....tolorate each other at most. With the Dragons looking down on the Wyverns for not being as strong, complex, or power as them and the Wyverns wanting the respect they deserve. Wyverns aren't stupid compared to Dragons (Well the capability is the same). They just value simple things compared to dragons. If given the choice between a gem and a spoon. The Wyvern would concider either choice. Not because they think they are worth the same just for being shiny. (They do like their shinies) but the gem if it doesn't belong to anyone, sure they'll pick that one. Maybe gift it to someone else along the line. If it belongs to someone, most would pick the spoon instead because it is still a shiny and no one would miss a spoon. At the very least, the Wyverns and Dragons have a live and let live system. Eagna has, like most Wyverns, a simple life. His horde containing mostly junk like spoons, pemnies, and other miscellaneous shiny things. With a few valuables like books and a few gems. Doesn't know what happened to his parents exactly but was told they died in the war. He felt... A mix of feelings, this happened when he was really so it didn't pain him that much but to know they fought gave him... Pride. He hopes one day he will also do something honorable. Most would wonder "All these dragons and a Wyvern was picked?" Well he's... A special one. One that exist every one hundred years or so. Most, breathe poison. Few, breath healling, he can do both. To have one that could heal his teammates and defend himself will be needed. So Eagna was chosen.

Talent: His breathe. Thanks to this mythological setting I don't have to do all that science stuff so I can keep it simple. He can breathe poison and healing. But because he's young. The healing part is not that great. It's more for simple treatment like disinfect and stitch wounds. Nothing big like regrow severed limbs or anything like that. Though broken limbs can be healed in a day if Eagna repeatedly heals every 30 minites for 6 hours. Even faster if he does it more but then he would risk passining out if he keeps doing it without rest. It takes 5 minutes to recharge the poison part and 30 minutes for the healing part.
Random fact: He carries around his lucky spoon, made into a necklace. It's absolutely worthless but it was his father's lucky spoon so it has value to him.

Okay, can I just say that I was really tempted to make a peacock here? REALLY tempted.

Empire: Tree
Appearance: She is for the most part a tree bark brown, but a lot of her head feathers are an irdescent green. She has hints of green and gold throught the rest of her body, especially on her tail, which is rather long for a hummingbird.
Personality: Hyper, responsible, anxious, sweet, has a huge sweet tooth and a heart of gold, can't take a compliment, tries very hard at everything, even if that isn't the best approach, determined, can be obsessive, emotional, friendly but needy
How you reacted when chosen (if chosen): Flew around in circles telling people, hurried home to pack, headed out with grim determination
How you would react to someone you hated deeply: Complain, keep herself busy to avoid confrontation, ignore them, perhaps after a long time even try to make peace with them.
You in a good mood: Thinks of everything and gets it all done. Fun to talk to.
Hopes and dreams?: To be liked, respected, make and keep some friends, wants peace and candy for the children of the Tree Empire
Are you secretly afraid to do this?: Deep down, she's scared of dying, and it may take her a while to make peace with this (although she probably will eventually), but she's into the spirit of the adventure and only fears that and the smaller hurdles (losing a good friend, etc.). All in all, Vernea is optimistic, hopeful, and steadfast through it all, and is more than willing to go on this quest.
Background: She was a tactician and supplyer for the war in her youth, luckily it ended while she was still young, and she's devoted the rest of her life and talent to rebuilding her empire. Her Empress knew that she wanted to do good, was a good team member and talented, and wasn't afraid to get her wings dirty, so she was chosen for the postition.
Anything I forget that we should add?: Will you be shipping the charries, or us? Either way, can Vernea be in a ship?

@Tux, no a wolf is not OP! Might be cool cause the Jewel is also a wolf. But maybe a little cliche, YOU CAN BE ANY ANIMAL OUT OF MILLIONS OF SPECIES FROM ALL OVER THE WORLDS a wolf is sort of...normal. (Don't judge my stone *pulls stone to chest* its SPECIALI)
@Writer, I don't see much of a difference between Wyverns and Dragons, so I think you're fine. I'm just not going to call him a Wyvern cause theyre all dragons (but of course there are a million different types of dragons so however you would like to interpret that, rest of crew, is fine.) So MAYBE instead of everyone questioning his picking cause he's a Wyvern, they question it because he's a smol little guy? (also Dragon Queens are very arrogant creatures) Also, how does his healing thing work? And posion thing?

@Everyone, I've decided that once you've made a chosen you can make some background charries like Outcasts or normal citizens. Or, you can just skip the chosen part and make some others. Also, no guaranteeing they'll be backgrounds the whole time.

Well he can choose which one cause he has two sacks. One for poison, one for healing. The poison for his age is like a combo of watered down ammonia and poison magic. It's pretty much D&D's Poison Spray. His Healing Spray is like a Cure Light Wounds. The whole thing with Wyverns and Dragons is actually from the European Mythology it came from. And Wyvens are usually smaller than Dragons and don't live as long. They can live for a long time. Just not that long compared to Dragons. So I didn't think size would be that much of a factor. In fact. It should kind of be expected since they are getting teens and kids to do this... Also a humming bird is on the team so if anything they should be questioning that.

Species: Part maned and regular wolf (Dont actually think its possible BUT WHO ASKED YOU jkjk)
Empire: Stone... I think. Yeah, lets go with stone.
Appearance: Like any regular maned wolf, he has red ocre fur, with sploches of black and white but the build of a wolf. He isnt stalky and has the lithe appearance of a Maned wolf, just shorter. He aften looks very tired or worn out. (If you dont know what a maned wolf looks like, look it up)
Personality: Underhanded and shady. At least thats what most animals see him as. His family heritage has been a long line of shady folks, and are known for their cunning and slyness. And he's followed in his packs footsteps, having a natural ease with words and using it to his advantage. He's extreamly intellegent in most areas of life. Especially when it comes to other's feelings. He could tare you down brick by brick if he wanted to, or do quite the opposite. However, he's not ruthless. Very fierce, but not ruthless. reserved and would most likely stay in the shadows- at first. Cautious also. Not one to blindly leap into a situation. He's a survivor.
How you reacted when chosen (if chosen): Pride. Which is a feeling he rarely ever has. Also, most animals would be opposed to him being chosen on this expidition, so he's interested to see how they react.
How you would react to someone you hated deeply: He'd tare them down till they'd have nothing left. Phisically and mentally

@Stardust and @Moonlight, The Empire of Trees already has two spots, Secret and Soren (who reserved)
@Tux, I think Apollo would be a good Outcast charrie, but since he's a hybrid, I don't think he would belong in an Empire (maned wolf would be Sand I think?) and wouldn't be a chosen. BUT I'll make him important in the Solo write if you want him to be an outcast. I like his vibe, and I will totally ship him.
@Writer, I don't and never have played DnD so Idk what you're talking about. Can I just come up with his healing/poison powers? I don't think they would be much different but it would be simpler for me. Also, what I meant by small is that he's like 1 1/2 feet tall and all the other dragons are like HUGE so maybe they would be questioning life if he was chosen instead of a big bad dragon? Also, this is a different universe, so no like European dragon wyvern things. They're all under the same category, everyone ages the same, and it doesn't matter what type of creature it is as long as it is dragon-like and can pass as a normal dragon in that empire.
@everyone, you can come up with shippings yourself, but if things start to go in a different way while I'm writing, then they may not be shipped together. Or last long. In a relationship.
Also, the Tree Empire is full. One spot left for the other 4. I think. Double checking. Well unless Tux still wants her spot for Stone. If so, then Stone is also full. Moonlight, Stardust, your charries can be Outcasts. Their backgrounds might be a bit different tho. Up to yallz.
