My NaNo Novel?!

My NaNo Novel?!
My NaNo Novel?!
So I'm already starting my November NaNo novel and I want to show the finished prologue to you guys! I'm super proud of this, and I actually am super proud of it!
Prologue
Five years ago
"Three-Song!" Nico winced as she heard her nickname, which she hated more than anything else. She was walking down a corridor she shouldn't be walking down, in a lab she wished she wasn't in. The floor was shiny tile, clean and freshly waxed by some employee getting paid only cents compared to the scientists that worked on her. The walls were just as white, just as shiny, and made of a plastic-like material that fingerprints didn't stick to. The ceiling was bathed in cool white light, the plasma lights cold and unwavering. If someone were to touch them, they'd burn their fingers.
"Three-Song!" the angry-sounding voice called again. Shaking like a leaf, Nico slowly turned, yelping at the security agent standing nearly right behind her.
"Y-yes?" she stammered, hoping that she wouldn't get in too much trouble for being outside her cell during inside hours.
"Why are you not in your room?" the security agent asked coldly, staring into Nico's gold eyes. The scientists and the security agents referred to their cells as "rooms" in an attempt to make the cruel institute building feel more like the home it would never be.
"I'm . . ." Nico struggled for an excuse. " . . . using the bathroom." She knew the bathrooms wouldn't be this way. The security agent would know that, and she'd be punished.
"There's no bathroom this way," the security agent told her. "Get back to your room, before I make you."
Instead of running back to her cell, Nico breathed on him.
She knew she had another power somewhere. The scientists always said, "Her second one is there, she just needs the right motivation." Now, it came. It was an instinct, the flicker in her gut, the way her mouth opened, but not big enough, and flames clawed up her throat, burning her lips and scarring her tongue.
The gust of fire blasted the security agent back into the shining tile floor, and blackened the walls and floor. Nico's mouth hinged closed as she came to the realization of what she had just done. She couldn't go back to her cell now, certainly not after she had burnt the security agent to a crisp and ruined a good ten feet of walls and floor.
She turned and ran, her bare feet pounding against the tile. The nearest window she saw, she leapt out, back first. She knew her first power would catch her. Her navy blue jumpsuit whipped around her, the fabric dragging her upward. Soon, she was hovering three stories from the ground, forty feet below the broken window.
