Hey. I want

Hey. I want

Hey. I want to write a story with the rest of you guys too so, like, post about your character and four other characters beside me get in so... I'll let you know if you get in, just post before July 10. Tell me your character's looks, personality, age (10-15), family, background, and favorite things. I"m thinking of having the story be about random strangers who meet on a plane ride and find themselves in the same resort in Aruba, etc. Good or bad idea? Let me know your thoughts!

I think three charries are enough to do a solo write. I mean, I'm just not that good at writing, and I'd kind of prefer seeing what people do with my charrie instead of having to do everything myself, you know? And I still don't have a backstory for my charrie or a reason for why she's traveling, and I'd kind of like someone to come up with those for me... But we could do an RP too, I don't mind that much.

Yeah, I think that it's good for a solo write, and I can definitely come up with other parts to your character. It's just that I'd rather have somebody else writing with me, because their style is different and I like to see how different people come up with different sides of the same plot. But I can write yours for you. I guess let's see what Hermione thinks.

I would be totally fine with this becoming an rp, but I can't write until maybe Sunday because I'm on vacation and I don't have access to a computer. Everything I've posted recently is from my tablet, hence many typos.

My CAPTCHA just said poxc. I think they have chicken pox. *cooing to small fluffy creature*

Hi @LilyPad! Please join, it's not too late... We didn't start yet! Do you want to do an RP or a solo write? Cause we're still deciding *raises eyebrows at Agent Winter* due to some lazy writers. lol. no offense Agent Winter!

Sorry! I am kind of lazy. I honestly don't care if it's a solo write or an RP, I was just pointing out that I'd kind of like to see what people do with my charrie. But I'm fine with doing whatever people prefer.

Reni

I love flying. I always have; the thrill of waking up early and the excitement that builds up as you get your passports checked and your bags through security are all things that make me love our annual vacation to Aruba even more. I still love it, even though Divi and Tami and Mom aren’t here. It’s different, a new experience, one that I’m not sure I’ll like yet. We always just bring carry-ons, so I have my black gymnastics tote and my black-and-white-striped suitcase when we head to sit down in the JetBlue area. Dad goes to get Mel, my pet yorkie, checked in as a carry-on, while Hillie and I sit down. My twin sister tries to get me to play some word game, but I ignore her. Another awesome part of flying is all the shops inside the airport. I reach for my wallet and tell Dad where I’m going; he hands me a few bills and tells me to get myself some food and bring him back a coffee. If Mom were here, she’d be coming with me to make sure I got something healthy to eat. If Divi were here, she’d come with me and take me to the hottest shops. If Tami were here, she and Hillie would try to get us to play a game of some sort. If- stop it. I tell myself as I walk toward the Dunkin Donuts. I order a bagel with strawberry cream cheese for me, a chocolate chip muffin for Hillie, and of course, a coffee for Dad. I put the items for my family in an orange and pink plastic bag and take a bite of my bagel. I walk to a few more shops, and wind up with a few fashion magazines, a new notebook, some cool pink earbuds, and two new tubes of lip gloss. Not my best haul but… Divi and I both have an unhealthy obsession with shopping. Looking down at my watch, I realize that I should get back to the boarding area, I buy some Auntie Anne’s pretzels, and rush back to give Dad his coffee and Hillie his muffin.

When I sit back down, I notice that some more people have sat down to wait for the plane. An older couple, a few boys, a girl in the corner with a Star Wars hoodie and some blue and purple streaks in her hair, a girl wearing almost neon clothes who comes bouncing in as the boarding agent calls for us to line up. I smile at her. I like to smile. At everyone who I can catch their eye. Literally. I’ve been going to a camp for three years now, and practically everyone there calls me “Smiles” instead of my real name, Reni. My parents gave us weird names, I know. It’s after all the hotels and resorts in Aruba. The Divi Resort, the Tamarijn resort, the Renaissance, the Hilton. It’s actually kind of cool. This year we’re staying in the Divi resort again. It’s by far the best one, but Divi is that best one of us, so it makes sense. It’s an all-inclusive resort, which means that I can just wander around, go to all seven pools, got to the ocean, and order free virgin pina coladas whenever I see a bar. It’s pretty sweet, at least if you have a friend going. Hillie knows somebody from her Chatterbox website who happens to be going at the same time, so I’m gonna be all on my own. Fun.

We board, and I have the aisle seat, right across from the rainbow girl who I smiled at this morning, and right in front of the Star Wars girl. I turn around and smile at her, too. She’s sitting with a woman who looks just like her, only older. Her sister, maybe? The rainbow girl seems to be all alone, stuck in the same row as the elderly couple. It’s not that bad though. Looks to be a good group. No babies or anything. I give the two girls one last smile, then plug in my earbuds amd turn on my music, contemplating if I should introduce myself to the girls as I get lost in the sound.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this, but Lyra is gay. Come to think of it, she's quite a bit like Bill Potts. Hmmmmm.

Tell me if you think this is a good post length, or if it's too long or too short, okay?

Lyra~

Aruba! Aruba! Aruba!I internally scream. Aruba! Aruba! Aruba!Aaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!! I’m so excited forthis trip! Although it’s not first trip on a plane, because I fly to my dad’sin Seattle multiple times a year, I’ve never been to anywhere in the Caribbean before. The most exotic place I’ve ever been was Montreal in Canada, where theyspeak French, but that’s only a few hours’ drive from my mom’s house.  We didn’t even have to fly. Oh my gosh, I’m soexcited!

Right now, I’m in the airport, trying to lie down on thebenches, but the seat dividers make it very tricky. I’ve tried lying on top ofthe dividers, but that hurt, and my torso doesn’t quite fit underneath them. I’vebeen experimenting with my legs under and my torso on a seat with my head restingon the divider, when out of the corner of my eye I see a cute girl with long, glossy dark hair pulled into a ponytail that swishes as she walks. She’s short, like me, but from the way she walks, smoothly with fairly long strides, I cantell that she is still strong and athletic. Unlike me. I’m not a couch potato, and I’m not overweight, but I’m most definitely not going to be running anymarathons, either.

The cute girl catches me looking and flashes me a smile. Sheseems nice. I hope I get to talk to her on the flight.

Bored with trying to nap, I sit up and start topeople-watch. Sitting on the bench across from me is a girl in a well-lovedStar Wars hoodie. Yay! A fellow nerd!Maybe she’ll be sitting near me and we can talk about fandoms! She’sstaring down though, engrossed in her phone with headphones on, and she’s sortof emitted an extreme don’t-talk-to-me vibe. Maybe we won’t be talking. Sheseems kinda antisocial. She does have cool hair, though. It’s short and blackand splashed with strands of purple and electric blue.

“We are now boarding rows F through K,” a flight attendantsays, the intercom making his voice sound strange and nasal. “If your seat isin rows F through K, please form a line in front of the desk. Thank you, andenjoy your flight.”

I stand up, as does the Star Wars girl and the cute girl. I makemy way through the hordes or people bustling about and end up in line behind theStar Wars girl and in front of a group of college-age boys pushing and jostlingwith each other to be in front. One of the bumps into me, and I stumble forwardinto the Star Wars girl, who is still wearing her headphones. The volume is crankedup so high, and can faintly hear it when my head nears hers.

“Sorry,” I say. “Those boys bumped into me. Are you okay?”

She nods, barely making eye contact.

“I’m Lyra, by the way. What’s your name?”

“Ummm… Sadie,” she says. She seems a bit annoyed that I’mtalking to her.

“Who’s your favorite character? I like Leia and Lando.”

“What?”

“In Star Wars. I noticed your hoodie, and I thought I’d ask,”I say.

“Oh. Umm… I like Anakin,” she says, looking at me suspiciously, like I’ve been spying on her.

“Cool. Hey, where are you sitting?”

“Why?” she asks. Her suspicious glare deepens.

“Just wondering. I wanted know if you were near me, so wecould talk more.”

“Next,” calls the boarding agent. Star Wars girl-no, Sadie-walksup to the agent, who checks her pass and sends her off down the tunnel to theplane.

“Next,” the agent calls again, and I hand over my boardingpass. He gives it a once over, then ushers me down the tunnel.

Once on the plane, I shuffle down the narrow aisle to find myseat. I’m right next to an elderly couple, who both appear to be napping. Ilook across the aisle, and to my surprise, I’m right across from the cute girl! She flashes me another smile, before putting in her earbuds.

“Hi,” I say, and she takes out one earbud to listen.

Hi! Great post, Hermione! I'll add another one from Reni a little later. Also, I was rereading this, and I realized that we might've gone to camp the ssame week; I went from the 15-20 to a Girl Scout camp in Massachusetts. Sorry for asking, but where did you go? You don't have to answer if you don't want; I'm just curious. ;)

I went toGirl Scout camp in Vermont, camp Farnsworth, from the 8th to the 21st. It was my first two-week session, too.
