Medieval RP
Hi I'm Sam, I used to post a lot on here, and now I'm back. I thought for my first post back I'd start a medieval/fantasy rp.
There is a land called Peridot, where magic and myth are common. Running rampant in this land are knights, thieves, and adventurers, as well as monsters and mythical creatures.
The crown of the king of Peridot has been stolen, and the king poisoned, by a thief only known as Obsidian, who leads the Obsidian Gang, a gang of highly dangerous mercenaries and thieves. The royal famliy is offering 100,000 gold pieces to whoever can retrieve the crown and the cure to the poison.
Basically you can be anything you want, can have any magical pet you want, and you live in a medieval world where all this stuff is common. I've set up a little plot to get us going, because I know that it's always weirdly hard to start a story like this.
I don't really care how many people join, but I think once somewhere between 5-10 people post, I'll start the story.

My character -
Name: Ruby Imago
Age: 16
Gender: female
Appearance: flaming red hair, bright green eyes, tall
Role: blacksmith's apprentice, thief
Background: Ruby was born and raised in the Peridot city center. Her father is the royal blacksmith. He taught her his trade, and how to use the weapons he created. As she grew up she started to steal and became a very proficient thief. She wants to find the crown for the reward, and cares little about how dangerous the Obsidian Gang is.
Species: human
Weapon: a short sword, and a knife, both made by her father
Magical Proficiency: dabbles in magic - she stole a spellbook from a warlock once, and she mainly just uses the spells in the book
Other: she has a black cat that stops by her house occasionally and is more or less her pet

Thanks! I'm so excited for this RP. I'm not generally a 'shipping' type person, or at least, I don't like making a character with shipping in mind. I'd rather see where the story takes the charries. And if my character's only purpose is to be in a relationship it's probably not going to be a very interesting character to read or write about. We can see what happens after the story gets going.

This is a very late reply, but yes, hello Rogue, I'm back to posting finally! xD I thought this RP died, but apparently it hasn't yet, so I'll go ahead and post something.
(I'm @ing you, Cassandra, because I want to interact with Kaiden but I'm not sure if you're still keeping an eye on this thread.)

REWARD!
100,000 gold pieces for the one to find the missing crown and a cure to the king's ailment.
SEALED BY ORDER OF THE QUEEN.
I run my hands through my hair, rereading the sign again. The king is sick, eh? And they're offering 100,000 gold pieces for his recovery? I'm no medic, and I don't have much interest in gold. But this problem seems like an excellent opportunity for a good old-fashioned adventure.
After ripping the poster from its position on a tree, I flip my knife from one finger to another, heading further into town. Arriving from the woods, with such a rugged look, I know I'm not about to be stopped.
First things first: I need information. I need to know how the king got poisoned, I need to know if these two events were connected, I need to assess his symptoms.
I hurry to the center of town, where the castle looms. It's heavily protected, and I don't blame them. I stop by the first guard I see and hold up my poster. "I'm here about the missing crown. Is there somebody I can talk to?"
The guard raises an eyebrow. "Nobody not on personal business is allowed in the castle, mate."
"Too bad," I reply, flipping my knife again. "I thought your queen would be honored that Cameron Dragonheart was taking an interest in her proposition."
"You're - you're Dragonheart? Blimey - "
I ignore him and head further towards the gate. Most other guards don't stop me - apparently, if you've talked to one, you've talked to them all. When I reach the double doors, I tell the guards stationed there my name and show them my poster.
"Just a minute," replies one, slipping into the castle. She returns a few minutes later with a butler.
"Are you here to show me to someone?" I ask him as the doors swing closed behind us.
"No," he replies, in a posh, impatient voice. "I am here to be interviewed."
"Oh, don't waste my time," I snap. "I want to see the king."
"He's in no fit state - "
"The king."
"I must refuse."
I flip my knife hand up until the blade is pressed against his neck. Their curvatures are almost identical. "I'm not here to hurt anyone if I don't have to," I tell him firmly. "But it sounds to me as if you're refusing to give a trained professional the information they need to go on a case. How do you expect a solution if all I get to interview is a servant? There will be no hostility if I can see the king."
"V-very well," he replies, his jugular trembling. "I will take you to the king."
~~~
The butler was not lying - the king is in no fit state to talk. He foams slightly at the mouth as he stares at me, incomprehension in his eyes. I sigh. "I'm not going to get anything out of you, am I?"
He opens his mouth once or twice, apparently in confusion. I shake my eyes and open the bedroom door.
I'm lost, I relise suddenly. The butler led me here, but, I realize, he said nothing about taking me out. I'm observant, but not observant enough to get myself around a castle that takes up at least an acre of sheer building, all with the exact same carpeting, lighting, and colors. I sigh and assume the best way to go is down.
But what is down? I wander through the castle, going that direction when I can, going anywhere else otherwise. Finally, I find myself in a corridor ending in only a door.
Sometimes these doors lead to stairwells. I push it open.
A boy is sitting in a library. He was engrossed in a book laid open on a table, but at the sound of my entrance, glances up. He has almost unnaturally pale skin and black-brown hair. I stop in the doorframe. "Sorry," I say. "Didn't know where I was. . . . Are you Prince Kai - "
Before I can finish my question, a guard steps in front of me, sword unsheathed.
I've decided to make Korryn 16.
Korryn~
I slip my elfin fingers under the window with ease and slowly lift it up. Suddenly, a bolt of magic shoots past my shoulder, nearly singing half of my hair off. My irises turn completely grey as I turn my elfin eyes into my dragon eyes. The darkness parts as my draconic night vision activates, revealing a yellow-scaled Flavusdens. He raises his gun again, but before he has time to shoot my skin turns to silver scales, gleaming faintly in the moonlight, and my hair hardens into horns. An armoured tail sprouts behind me, but no wings. I'm going for humanoid lizard instead of huge reptillian beast. I dart into the room, dogding a shot from the reptile's gun. I swipe it out of his hands with my claws, but he grabs me by my left wrist. Twisting my arm, he locks me into a tight bear hold. He whispers in my ear.
"Sssso. Who are you?" He gloats at the fact that he defeated me, as he should. For a little bit, I'll give him this triumph. I smile.
"Not your prisoner!" Grabbing the hand that holds my left arm, I twirl out from under his grasp, my now forked tongue flicking. He growls and lunges for his gun, but I step in his way. He stops.
"So. Who are you?" I say with a smile. This reptile is a worthy opponent, a lot more worthy than the last few people I've had the pleasure to fight. He snarls.
"Ssssstillo. Ssstillo Flavenlax. And you?" He seems genuinely intrigued now.
"Nobody of consequence." I state smugly. He smirks.
"Well then, let me guessss... Hmmm... From what I ssssaw... An elf-dragon... Interessssting." He puts on a hilarious face of mock contemplation.
Also. The only part of stillo that looks even remotely human is his anatomy.
Stillo~
This is...new....
I never seen or heard of such. An elf that can turn into a dragon. A silver dragon at that. She does seem to be a druid nor have one of those Fortunos...
"Interesssting..." Elf plus dragon. Elf-Dragon or Duende-Continuar or Dryadalis-Draco.
It was hard enough having to learn latin and english isn't helping cause my mind is debating tself in three languages.
"Smart Gec-"
"Do NoT CaLl Me GeCkO!"
Easy Stillo. You don't want to lose control. Murder isn't gonna do anything but put you in a frenzy!
I take a deep breath "What in Dorado Colinassss makessss you think you can break into my room?!"
"What is D-"
"ANSSWER!"
She raises her hands up.
"Hey, it's not every day you get to see a reptil in these parts."
I stare at her. Focusing my Fortuno into it. Her ears lowered.
"I swear!"
I sigh.
"Tell you what. it'sss been a long time sssince sssomeone besssted me... I won't tell you are here. But I will need a name."
"Korryn ..So you are gonna do it too huh?" She looms at the poster. "Gonna be tough on your own"
"What are you implying?"
"Maybe. We should work together you know. There's strength in numbers."
"Word of wissse. Indeed. 50/50 ssshare."
"Deal!"
"See yeah in the morning"
She gives a smile and climbs out the window. I lay back down in my bed.
I will save you Lyra...
"Hey Stillo!"
I sit up, facing the window her head pokes out.
"Mind if I stay for the night?"
I snarl, get my pack. Place my bedroll down, and fell asleep for the night.
@The Writer, would it be possible if you would like to ship our charries? :)
(August 26, 2018 - 11:41 pm)
So everyone's going to forget that the main reason he wants to go back is for Lyra?
Just saying...
