I woke

Chatterbox: Inkwell

   I woke

   I woke up early that morning, but I told myself it was OK; it was my birthday, one of the few days we had a real reason to be truly happy. Exited, I jumped out of bed and raced into the kitchen, where dad was waiting for me. He grinned.

"Hey, there's my fifteen-year-old!" He hugged me."Why do you have to grow so fast?"

"Dunno, that's how it works, isn't it?" I pointed out."How it's worked for 2109 years."

My eyes slid over to the wood table. Presents! Three of them: one each from Mom, Dad, and Ellie. Dad's were usually the best. Mom entered, Ellie with her.

"Morning, Liv! Happy fifteenth," Chimed Mom.

"Yeah, Liv!" Ellie squealed,"Open mine first! Please!" She was bouncing up and down, up and down. I love El, but she was so hyper sometimes.

    "OK, El, settle down," I laughed, reaching for her gift.

It was a bundle of lilies, placed in a water-filled glass cup. Ellie knew I had needed a new still-life model to paint. Elanor's gifts were always sweet like that.

Next was Mom's. She had gotten me a new pallette of paint. Perfect! I had thought. I can use these to paint Ellie's flowers!

And, last but not least, was Dad's. Hmmmm, whar could he have gotten me? Could it possibly, maybe be-

"HOLY CRUD IT MOVED."

And without further ado, I opened it.

I'm finally sharing this story with the world, yay! Anywhoo, this is the first part of chapter one of my novel Nobodies: Saving the World. Not very interesting right now, but it gets better, trust me. Admins, it gets a little violent later on, but not super gory. Hope you guys like it!

Back! Sorry for the short post!

~~~~~~~~
Theives. Or just one theif. We slunk inside carefully; one wrong move and we could have been dead. So since I was at work that day, I didn't have my sword- didn't want to freak out my class. Naomi didn't have her bow and arrows, either. She likes to keep peace.
I locked the window entrance and bravely turned the lights on. A huge guy with very messy brown hair, brown eyes with a hint of hazel, and a rough brown bag clutched in his fat hands spun around to look at us, a guilty look plastered on his large, neckless face.
"Aw man," he grumbled, dropping his loot bag, "I thought this place was Abandoned."
Naomi snatched up the fallen bag and I peered inside. There was our weapons, a blanket, a loaf of bread, a jar of Jan, a box of matches, some mismatched change, a bag of apples, and a flashlight.
"Nice looting," I complemented, impressed.
"Really?" He asked, taken aback."Um, thanks."
I extended my hand, grinning. "Liv."
He grinned back, exepting my outstretched hand. "Jack."
And lo and behold, we became a trio. It stayed like that for a while, and I thought my new life couldn't get much better.
Eventually, I found out I was wrong- things could get better, and they soon did.
Alright In tell you right now: I probably won't post my whole novel on here. I will give you the beginning and stop at a good part. Sorry and thank you so much if you bothered to read this. It really means a lot to me. But for now, next part:
~~~~~~~~~~~~

In September every year, the AWS has a kind of festival- nice looking (but really rather cheap) lanterns are strung around the streets, some people have food stands(free of charge), and there are certain competitions. It's called the September Night Walk.

On my first Night Walk, one delicious food looking food stand caught my eye. It was cookies- the same kind as Fire Day; chewy, with chocolate chips, the perfect amount of sweetness. I knew the guy running it because he worked at the general store. He has a pleasant, clear face, boldly blue eyes, light blonde hair, and a small body.

Mystified by the familiar treat, I found myself walking over to his stand. "Um, hi," I had mumbled to him,"those are my favorite... could I maybe take a couple?'

"Sure, go ahead," He replied, gesturing to the table. I stuffed them in my mouth, taking my taste buds on a trip down memory lane. I don't know how this is possible, but they tasted like sadness.

He looked at me curiously. "You know, I don't think I've seen you around much."

"Eh, probably because I live in a basement."

"Ha! Well, it was nice to meet you, basement- girl. I'm Alex."

"Liv. Want to stop by my basement?"

"I would be glad to."

~~~~~~~
Yeah, so, sorry again and thanks for reading. I'll just finish off chapter 2 and then I'll be done.
~~~~~~~~~~~

When the Night Walk was over and I was bringing Alex to our basement, I saw som shadowy figures a little ways down the alley. They seemed to have been carrying out a deal. One of the figures slinked away out back. The other turned to the exit that Alex and I were blocking. They paused upon seeing us. They leaned coolly on the brick wall behind them.

"If you're planning on going into that basement, I hear a rather good thief lives there."

The voice was unmistakably female. She looked taller than me.

"That thief you're talking about is my friend Jack. And I live in that basement."

"Heh. Sounds like my kind of life."

"You can share in it if you promise not to kill my friends and I," I offered, looking carefully at the gliting blade in her hand.

"Well, I got nowhere else to go... why not?"

She stepped into the light, revealing her appearence; dark brown hair cut sharply halfway down her neck, narrowed eyes the same color as her hair, lean, small nose, and an air about her that said ' I don't much care, unless I can have a near- death experience'.

"I'm Willow, by the way," she added as we climbed into The Nobodies' Hangout, as we called it.

That night was a good one. Alex and Naomi don't live in the Hang, but they come by often. Unlike Willow, Jack and I, they have a family to live with.
