Spontaneous RP!
Spontaneous RP!
Sometimes I feel like we get so caught up in the developement and rules of a RP that it dies before we even make it very far (I know that's happened to me...Combat Cliff RPG, Griffinfeather RPG the first...and more).
So, let's just do some writing.
two rules.
1. Put forth your absolute best. Even if it's not going to be published or maybe no one else but me will read it. It's good for your writing. Trust me.
2. Make sure everything lines up! Mostly!! Inserting random flying unicorns is okay, but killing a character off and then making them reappear might be a little confusing.
If you are still confuzzled, check out this thread to see what I mean:
http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/65463
just make up a character and join the story. You can be a character I've mentioned or somebody new. My characters are Pheonix and Carlena.
Without further ado, let us begin.
~
"Carlena scratched at the wall's smooth surface, her heart pounding so loud she could hardly think. The dark rectangle seemed to close in around her, pressing in on all sides; squeezing her lungs flat and yanking away all the oxygen. The air was hot and sizzling with frusteration and fear. Throwing herself against the wall, Carlena melted onto the floor. She was stuck. Enclosed in a horrible crystal box while her own dear sister, Caroll, was set on destroying Jewel Academy. All she could do was sit here, helpless and terrified out of her wits, while Caroll did away with everything she worked towards. Carlena tried to take a calming breath and found she could not breath. The walls were closing in...her eyes whirled crazily around the shadows; searching for an exit. If Cassey doesn't get the children out of the academy in time, they'll all... Carlena let out a frusterated gasp of despiration. Oh come on, Carlena! You can't let a little claustrophobia defeat you, girl! She said to herself. The spunky Galaxy Witch sat up slowly and brushed back the gigantic bush of chalk-white, ankle length hair from her damp forehead. Carlena then—"
"Pheonix! Jaihra's on the phone!" My older sister called from downstairs.
"COMING!" I yelled back, dropping The Charming Adventures of Carlena the Galaxy Witch to the floor. Galexia looks up at me in surprise from her nest of pillows on the floor, her eyes clouded, obviously still deep inside the story.
"But...that's not fair! Nixie!" My little sister moans, "What happens to Carlena? What happens to the seven sisters and the academy?"
"You're just going to have to find out next time!" I say with a wink. Galexia shakes her head furiously, sending her fluffy brown pigtails into a frenzy,
"It's not fair that I don't get to see what happens next because you wanna go talk to your giiiiirlfriend," she says angrily. On the last word, an evil smile begins to curl on her lips. I stop half-way to the door.
"Jaihra is NOT my girlfriend. And we have very important things to talk about," I retort hotly before rushing out of Galexia's frilly, pink bedroom and down the stairs, taking the story book with me. The wood steps creak under my feet as I race down, nearly slipping on the last one.
"Yeah, Jaihra, he's coming," I hear my 21-year-old sister, Andromeda, say, Rounding the corner, I can see her leaning against the counter in a red tank top and shorts, her long brown hair in a messy braid over one shoulder. She has my phone tucked between her hear and shoulder while she casually flips through pages of her sketchbook, twirling a bright blue pencil with her free hand.
"I'm here!" I yell breathlessly in her face.
"Took you long enough," she says, rolling her eyes and handing over the phone, "go take your chatting upstairs. You two 'll talk my ears off. Upstairs!" She commands, pointing her pencil.
"Hi Jaihra!" I greet into the phone.
"Hi Pheonix! Ummm...are you alone??" She asks cautiously, "I have an update on...you know...project Milky Way Sorceress and...uh...the Precious Stone School," she hints not-so-subtly.
"Yeah, just a sec," I answer, dashing back upstairs to my room and bouncing onto my bed.
"Okay! Shoot!" I exclaim, tossing down the story book beside me. It flips open to the title page; which is covered with words I'm glad Galexia can't read yet.
For my nephew, Pheonix. I hope you enjoy my charming adventures!!! Please keep in mind that these are all absolutely true and my heroism was not exagerated in the least. Hope that you can soon join me in Jewel Academy! Once you set out on your journey to find it, that is.
xoxoxoxoxoxo <3 <3 <3
Your Aunt Carlena, the spunky Galaxy Witch
P.S. do not show this to anyone or I may have to incenerate them.
I let the book cover slide closed. Yeah, Galaxia, we do have important things to talk about.

Glad everything worked out and you're a loyal lemming now!
Phoenix~
"The password is; SaphiraIsAwesome."
"No, seriously," Jaihra retorts.
"I'm serious!" Saphira answers.
"Okay, but it can't be that easy..." I say, remembering the long passage in my storybook about the long and arduous journey to Jewel Academy. Perhaps my aunt was exaggerating. Also, perhaps she made the word arduous up. I've never heard it before.*
"Oh getting the maps is easy. Copies are all over fairyland, and tons of universe travelers carry them around," explains Saphira, "Interpreting them is the hard part."
"Let me guess, you know what all those strange places and words mean, but you're not going to tell us." AAAAhhh why didn't I ever pay attention in geography and astronomy?
"Just for a little while, to ah..."prove your worthiness" and whatnot," she answers.
"I proved my worthiness several times today! Look!" I exclaim, spreading my arms wide, "I'm alive! Despite the fact that several people have tried to shoot me, plants have tried to eat me, and planes have tried to explode me."
"Umm...I think those last two were your own fault entirely," Jaihra replies, rolling her eyes. She types a few things in on her byte without looking up.
"Okay, got it," she says after a few seconds.
"Nice! JEWEL ACADEMY HERE WE COME!" I yell, jumping up and pumping my fist in the air.
"Wait, did you say Jewel Academy?" A new voice says from the shadows.
"Yes...I d—aaaaahh! COOL! YOU HAVE WINGS TOOO! Do I get wings? Does Galexia get wings? Is that just a certain type of magic thing? Or do I legit get to fly, because that would be pretty cool and everyone knows I'm a natural fli—"
"Phoenix!" Lyra interupts shortly, "This is my...old friend. Zephyr."
*Go broaden your vocab, Nixie!

~ Galexia ~
"Phoenix!" Lyra says, "This is my... old friend. Zephyr."
We all fall silent for a few moments, then Nixie pipes up again, "Hey, Zephyr. Buuut... back to the important stuff. Do I get wings?! Because I'd look totally awesome with them!"
Jaihra rolls her eyes, "Nixie!"
"What?"
"I'll teach you humility later," she mutters, then turns to our new arrival, "Hello, Zephyr. Where did you come from?"
"I..." Zephyr says, "Er... Well, I heard you guys talking about Jewel. Are you enrolled there?"
"Soon we'll be," Nixie says optimistically, "Do you go there?"
He and Lyra exchange a significant look, and I wonder what the history between them is.
"We used to go there together," Lyra says.
"Used to?" Sam asks. By now, everyone has noticed Zephyr and is gathered around.
"Long story. Anyways," he changes the subject, "I think I'l better get going. I was just here to chat a bit with Lyra. So, bye!"
And with that, he spreads his wings and flies away.
"Wait!" Lyra calls after him, but he's gone into the sky.*
We watch him go for a little while, then Phoenix shrugs and turns back towards Jaihra, "Alright, let's take a look at the second half of the map."
Jaihra nods and clicks on something on her byte, turning it to show Nixie, "Look here."
*I was thinking maybe Zephyr could secretly follow them or something? Or maybe he could meet up with Andromeda?
(June 12, 2018 - 8:04 pm)
I’m officially 13 now! YESSS also I’m typing on my iPad so my posts will be a bit short until I get my chromebook back, also I will be in Alaska so I might post at odd times and stuff. But before we start I think it would be suspenseful if Andromeda thought that Zephyr was gonna attack Pheonix so that explains some stuff in this.
~~~
As I fly off I hear Lyra call after me “WAIT” but I don’t stop. Seeing those kids made me realize just how much I lost in such a short period of time. I fly up to a branch on a huge oak tree and sit on it, folding my wings beneath my cloak as I land. I can still see Lyra and her friends from here, chatting though she keeps scanning the skies for me. Then a solid weight lands next to me on the branch. It’s a girl with blue hair, chaos magic.
The second she sees me looking at the yellow haired boy, Nixie is think his name was, she pulls out a knife and tackles me. I attempt to fly away but she slashes at my wings with it. I roar in pain as the knife tears into my right wing, blood splattering on the branch we are fighting on. I feel the magic in my blood attempt to heal the wound but I push it away just as the girl tackles me off the branch and sends us both hurtling towards the ground. I attempt to flip myself so that I can grab onto a branch to stop us from falling to our deaths but the girl is too strong. She drives the knife into my stomach.
I don’t see any other way to have us both survive unless I use my magic. I flung out a kinetic net to catch us just before we hit the ground. I feel the impact against my wings and I clamp my teeth down to stop from screaming in pain. I slide off the redish orange net just before the girl does. I then slump to the floor and use my red magic to heal the slash on my wing until it is just another scar. The hilt of the knife broke off from the fall. I’ll deal with that later.
”What the hell is your problem?” I hiss at her aggressively as Lyra and her friends run over.
”Andromeda!” The small kid exclaims as she runs at the blue haired girl and hugs her tightly. I casually press my hand to my stomach, the blood from the wound warms it so I send a flicker of my magic into the wound, healing as much as I can without pulling the blade out. They noticed that I used red magic and kinetic magic but not that I was stabbed yet. You’ll live. It didn’t hit anything important. I reassure myself as Lyra and her group question the girl, Andromeda.
~~~
He has redish orange magic because he has some yellow magic but more red and the colors merged

Whoa, Andromeda's back?! I know I just posted, but I just HAVE to write about what Galexia feels!! And Happy Birthday, Darkking!
~ Galexia ~
Shortly after the boy with wings flies away, I hear a crash somewhere. We all look over and see two people--the winged boy and someone else--falling down from a tree. Suddenly, a kinetic net envolopes around them and catches them as they fall.
"Let's go help," Jaihra, always the leader, says, walking forward.
The rest of us nod and follow her. Soon, we're near the oak tree that they've fallen under.
The two figures step out of the net, and my eyes become as wide as saucers. Is that who I think it is?
The girl steps away from the boy-with-wings and turns toward me. I gasp and start sprinting towards her.
"ANDROMEDA!" I shriek, launching myself into her arms, "Andromeda, Andromeda! I knew you'd come back for me. I knew it!"
Tears of joy run down my cheeks as I squeeze her even tighter, "Oh, Andromeda, I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too, Galexia," her voice is warm with love, just like it has always been, "I missed you so much, baby."
I smile and push away, examining her closely, "Hey, you cut your hair!"
She fingers her shortened hair, "Yeah. Like my new style?" she asks teasingly.
"It's blue," I observe.
"Thank you, Captain Obvious," she laughs, but glances nervously over my shoulder.
I turn around to see Nixie, his jaw hanging open.
"Y-you have..." he gasps.
"Magic, just like you," Andromeda nods, "Blue magic, in my case."
"B-but... I thought..." for the first time, Phoenix is speechless.
Andromeda sets me down and takes a hold of my hand. She walks over to Nixie and gently hugs him, "I know, Nixie, it's a lot to take in. But the lives of the Starz family is about to get a lot more complicated."
"Is that a good thing?" Nixie asks.
Andromeda laughs her signiture carefree laugh, as if all of this crazy magic business is nothing to her. But of course, it probably isn't. Andromeda will always be my brave big sister. The bravest big sister anyone could have, "We'll have to see."
(June 14, 2018 - 12:53 am)
Ahhhhhhh! Galexia and Andromeda always give me the feels. Well written as always Cassandra! <3
(June 14, 2018 - 11:50 am)
Wow! Looks like I have a lot to catch up on. I'm taking off for camp for two weeks, and will not be on at all. Usually, when that happens, the RP dies, and I totally understand that when it's done, it's done. BUT feel free to keep going (I don't care if you control my characters for the sake of the plot). And if things get boring, pull a Phantom of the Opera and drop some chandeliers. Or discover something new about your powers. Or meet a long lost relative. The possibilities are endless! Unfortunately, I don't have the brain power for a big long post tonight after a swim meet and packing and all kinds of crazy stuff. BUT tomorrow, I will really try to post Andromeda's huge arc from the airship to Spectral System (doing something mysterious), into trouble, and to here. And that's a mighty busy, big day for our characters!
(June 14, 2018 - 9:34 pm)
This will be my last post for a while, y'all! Feel free to keep the plot moving. Don't wait on me.
Andromeda~
I wasn't expecting the boy to jump at me out of nowhere. So I did what any sensible girl would do. I stabbed him. He falls to the courtyard floor.
"Wha—" Dominique begins from behind me, but I wave to cut him off as I catch sight of Phoenix's neon hair. I feel a jolt in my chest like everything has suddenly been pushed back in place. I leap down from the tree.
"Andromeda!" Galexia. Oh, my sweet baby sister. This whole situation was never meant to involve her; a sweet angel, born into a family of magical demons*. If anything happened to her, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
"I knew you'd come back! I knew it! I knew it!" Her voice reaches a crescendo of happiness which breaks off abruptly as she launches herself into my arms.
"I missed you too, Galexia. I missed you so much, baby," I murmur in her ear. It's only been one day. But, oh the difference one day can make when your little sister is away and in danger because of you. Her hands branch out across my sweaty shoulders, fingers playing with the ends of my hair. My vibrant blue hair. My magically blue hair that I am all too aware of. She isn't supposed to know yet, but then, none of this was supposed to happen so soon.
"You cut your hair!" She exclaims, completely naive. I look over at Phoenix for the appropriate reaction. I speak quickly before he can ask any prying questions.
"It's a lot to take in. But the lives of the Starz family is about to get a lot more complicated."
"Is...that a good thing?," Phoenix asks, his eyes glowing with the implication of danger and adventure.
I laugh. And it feels good. Oh yes. For the two of us, that will definitely be a good thing.
Galexia doesn't want to stop hugging me, as if I might break away from her again, so I pick her up and swing her over onto my back. it's been too long since she's had a piggy-back ride. And NO ONE is ever too old for a piggy-back ride with their big sister. I look around at the group of new faces. A fairy. Several humans. Some of which practically glowed with magic, one of which had wings. And Jaihra. For...some reason.
"Wherever did you pick up this motley crew?" I ask Phoenix. He shrugs.
I turn to look at the red-haired boy leaning against a tree.
"That a friend of yours?"
"Umm...maybe? Hasn't tried to shoot us, capture us, or make us participate in a stuffy ball. I'd say one of the friendliest people I've met all day," he quips.
" 'Kay. Here, hope off." I pat Galexia, and she slides down my back. The others follow me as I walk over to the winged boy.
"What's...your...problem?" He gasps out through gritted teeth.
"Nothin'. I just don't like people to jump at me. Call it paranoia. Or just reflexes. Now, let me take a look at that." Glancing over my shoulder, I give Pheonix a look and then nod my head toward Galexia. He just stares at me dumbly. Brothers. Thankfully, one of the girls takes the hint and grabs Galexia by the hand, towing her away.
"Sit down, sweet pea," I direct, my words turning from steel to sugar as I take back my position as a sensible big sister.
"What did you do?" Pheonix asks, looking mildly concerned. "Throwing that knife was awesome. You've got to teach me that. I mean you were like BAM—but," he interrupts himself, "you didn't try to kill him, did you?"
"No. Listen, Phoenix. I don't do that. Not unless someone is threatening you or Galexia. See the red hair? Red eyes? You'll be alright, kiddo," I address the last part to the winged boy.
"Zephyr," he corrects quickly.
"C'mere, Nixie," I direct, "now, put your hand on his shoulder."
"This is weird..." he trails off, looking at me skeptically.
"Just channel your magic. Give him an energy boost so he can properly heal himself." Phoenix shrugs, then carefully begins to channel his magic. He steps back a few seconds later.
"Did I...do something?" Instead of answering, Zephyr closes his eyes in concentration for a moment and then opens them. The wound is healed. Even the blood on his shirt has been drained away.
"Why don't you go lie down, sugar," I suggest. Before anyone can say anything, a thump on the ground announces another fairy ball crasher dropping down from the tree.
I'd forgotten about Dom in the tree. Everyone whirls around to face the dark-haired pilot.
"I suppose some introductions are in order," I throw my arm around Dom's shoulder, "Crew, this is Dominique, Dom, or just dumb, dumb, and dumber, since he let me hijack his ship and force him to fly me here at gunpoint."
"Ha ha," Dom retorts, shrugging off my arm.
"Wow! Cool! Where have you been? Where'd you get a blaster? Are you secretly a ninja? Can I be a ninja? What about your powers? I thought you didn't have powers. Did you know about this the whole time? I thought you were captured! Geeze, Andromeda, did you really hijak an airship? Can I see it? Can I fly it? I promise I won't crash it like the last time—I mean, wait, you weren't here for—"
"Whoa!" I interupt before Phoenix can continue with his typical barrage of questions.
"I think some explanations are in order. AND ALSO," I give a sharp look at Galexia, "some bedtimes may be in order too."
Galexia immediately begins protesting. Funny how things can go back to normal so quickly.
*How wrong she is about Galexia's magic :)

I nod to everyone and head up to my bedroom. The ball is over and I'm so tiered and ready for bed. I enter and pull off the ichy dress I've been wearing. I pull on some fluffy pajamas and put the tiara onto my bedside table. I jump into bed and fall fast asleep.
