Once, long ago, the world was awake.
We lived in harmony with magic, and it in turn lived inside of us. We flourished together in a partnership that was so interwoven that it became difficult to tell the person apart from the flame that was part of their being.
That time, however, is long gone.
We have abused the power that was freely given us, and now we live in a cold world, reigned by men in iron towers who hold our world in their iron grip. Magic is nothing but a memory, a story whispered when we think nobody’s listening.
But what if I told you that we can bring it back?
Hello everyone! I’m Autumn Leaves, a former cber who hasn’t been on in forever because life got very…… lifey! (And by that I mean busy) Anyways, my mom actually gave me the month off of English to do creative writing which seemed like a dream come true until I suddenly couldn’t seem to write anymore. So I decided that I’d use my English time to start an RP!
All that aside, here’s the premise.
Our characters are living in a world called Aeros that used to be teeming with magic. It was deeply engrained in the culture, the people, and the society. However, it wasn’t long until people came along who wanted to misuse it. They found ways to manipulate it to do their bidding but didn’t realize what the consequences would be until it was too late. On a day that would later be known as the vanishing, magic completely disappeared.
Now, the world is a place of steel and iron and technology beyond anything that those early people could have dreamed of. But it is cold. People are told exactly how to act, how to think, how to live. Nobody says outright that you have to follow the rulebook, but those who don’t tend to mysteriously disappear. There also may or may not be hidden cameras. Depending on who you ask.
Your characters have begun to hear whispers that there have been sightings of magic for the first time in centuries. They have heard that there have even been a few who have been able to channel tiny bits of magic.
Who knows? Perhaps one of your characters will be among the lucky few who show a proficiency for magic.
Ok, so I haven’t done an RP in like forever, so I'm going to do my very best to do this right. I haven’t done a lot of world building yet, but basically, Aeros is this super oppressed, super futuristic society, and you can feel free to worldbuild as you go :)

*I always had trouble with this because it’s hard to fit a character in a few sentences when you haven’t even met him/her yet. So you can be as vague or as detailed as you want.
**Job, basically. You can choose something that's necessary for the survival of a civilization, (Engineer, scientist, ect) Or have fun with it and make something up.

MERLIN'S BEARD this looks amazing!!! Aaah so joining!! Hey and Autumn Leaves, what if normal names in this RP are after objects and stuff in nature? Not like boring objects, but like Silver, and Lace, and Steel. I just thought since it's a dark world that it's set in, people would be named for concrete things.

Hey guys! So I think we should probably wait until tomorrow to start, that way the people who reserved a spot have a little more time to post a charrie sheet. (If they don’t they can still feel free to jump right in of course. Anyone can join at any time so no worries about that)
So sorry I didn’t get to post my charrie sheet yet! I actually got it mostly done last night and was going to post it today, but we just put our house up for sale and this morning I got shaken awake by my mom saying that some people wanted to look at the house and we had to leave. (Too bad. I was in the middle of an awesome dream XD)

Name: Wren Sabine
Gender: Female
Age: 23
A little personality*: Has learned that life doesn’t come easy, and that showing any signs of weakness isn't going to get you anywhere useful. Also has had to figure out how to maintain a facade of complacency and ordinary-ness in order not to draw attention to herself. Is whip-smart, and has a mind that works in a highly mechanical fashion.
Appearance: Straight hair the color of liquid caramel that cuts off in sharp line right above her jaw. Piercing amber eyes. Her face is narrow and she has high cheekbones. She’s small but well built from years of working with metal, and has long, slim fingers. She likes to keep her hands busy, and usually has some small form of technology to fiddle with.
Position**: Works with weapons development designing robotic armor. (I just watched Iron Man. I feel inspired XD)
Other: Is part of an underground group of people who are known simply as Orion. Orion has managed to keep the memory of the old magic alive, despite the government’s efforts to completely snuff it out. The only reason Orion has managed to stay undetected throughout the centuries is by staying relatively small, but it has agents in many government positions, and now that it senses something important is brewing it is beginning to strengthen its effort to spread the word about the magic.
Luna says "fevh". I don't have a fever, just a bit of a cold. You should be careful about misdiagnosing random people.
