DnD Fanfic Contest!

DnD Fanfic Contest!

If you haven't read my solo write yet, you should, to understand what's happening.

Ever wanted to influence my solo write? Win a chance to have your character (or one of mine) sketched for you? Write a cheesy self-insert fanfic where you get to marry Danielle Amora (because who doesn't?)?

Then join this contest! Write a fanfiction about my solo write and I'll sketch the character of your choice (or your own character!) and use it to influence my solo write.

The fanfiction can be one of the following:

SELF-INSERT: Write a story where your OC (DnD or otherwise) meets the Main Gang (West, Illaeara, Eris, Danie, and Esthaenie). This can be as self-indulgent as you'd like.

SHIP: Think that Starflower/Eris is your OTP? No? How about West/Illaeara? Whoever you ship, write a fanfiction about them and submit for a chance to win!

JUST PLAIN ORDINARY FANFICTION: What's the Main Gang up to today?

The stories should be a minimum of 100 words or so (maybe minimum 50?). There is no maximum, so if you have a 19,000 word Westllaeara fanfiction hidden on a flash drive somewhere, go ahead and upload it!

MP: Hey, Brooke, is this just a weak ploy to get people to write fanfictio--

That's beside the point.

Happy writing!

I'll post mine later because I need to read up on DnD first, but I'd love to do this!!!

Thanks Aspen! And remember, minor details don't ruin a story. If you have more questions about DND, you can ask!

Ookaay, then I have a LOT of questions, so...I guess I'd better list them.

1. What's a Kenku?

2. What gods do the people in DnD worship? Are they the norse ones? I know Tyr is the Norse god of war. (sorry, mythology nerd alert XD)

3. What are the basic rules of DnD for how to play and all?

4. What is the world of DnD like?

5. What are some good examples of typical names in the DnD world?

6. What are the ae-thingy elves that have wings exactly?

1. Kenku are feathered humanoid bird-creatures. They have the heads of crows and feathers covering their bodies. Due to their ability to mimic any sound, they are often criminals and thieves. Kenku monks like Adelram are VERY rare.

2. D&D can be customized to your wishes. In my world, the Norse Gods rule the North, the Greek Gods rule the West, The Egyptian Gods rule the South, and the Japanese-Chinese myth is rules the East. There are also a couple of elven gods like Lolth, the dark elf goddess of spiders.

3. A player called a “Dungeon Master” or “DM” narrates the game and guides the characters through. He sends enemies and allies to fight or talk to them. Players roll dice to determine the outcome of rolls.

4. Elves. Dwarves. Humans. Dragons. Kingdoms. You get the drift.

5. Any sort of names you want! Human names are typically very diverse, elven names can be found online by searching the web, same goes for dwarven/halfling/orcish names.

6. Avariel, the reclusive elves of the sky. In my world, they left the ground-lands long ago and are sought after for their wings and glassteel swords.

Awesome! And one more thing: Are Westward, Estaenie, Eris, and all them the main characters of the actual game, or did you make them up?

There are no "main characters" of the actual game, all characters are personalized.

West, Illaeara, and Eris are each character's I've played before. Esthaenie, Starflower, and Danielle are based on CBers.

So, from your description, DnD sounds pretty fun. I like your solo write, too. I just have a question- what is DnD? like, how do you play? Is it a board game? Forgive my ignorance.

AAAAAAAHHHH!!! I LOVE D&D!!!!

He hem, anyway, @Quill, D&D is an RPG game where instead of moving pieces or manipulating controllers, players design characters and then, simply by talking, describe what these characters do. The DM controlls the world and other creatures and monsters who arent the main characters. Heres an example.

DM: You stand at the base of a vast mountain, tunnles riddle the surface of it and you can see a particularly large cave ahead of you. Light shines from inside of it, its the torches of the goblins you were chasing. What do you do?

Player1: I say we go after them.

Player2: I agree, but we should check for traps.

Player3: I use my detect trap spell.

DM: Roll your dice.

Player3: I got a 19!

DM: You see a tripwire halfway through the entrance.

Player3: I tell the others.

Player1: Can I try and disarm the trap?

Player2: No need, we can just jump over it.

And so on and so forth. Pretty much, you narrate and adventure and roll dice to help to determine outcomes.

I believe Dungeons and Dragons started as a board game years ago. The online game is not recommended for anyone under age 12, and Cricket does not recommend the game at all.

It is a game played using character charts and dice. You get to make your character's appearance and personality, and they can be a BarbarianBardClericDruidFighterMagic-User/Mage/Wizard,Monk/Mystic,PaladinRangerSorcererThief/Rogue, or Warlock. They have different stats: INTELLIGENCE, WISDOM, CHARISMA, STRENGTH, DEXTERITY, and CONSTITUTION. These stats and dice rolls determine how fights and encounters with others go.

A player called the Game Master or Dungeon Master narrates the events of the game and acts out all of the Non-Player Characters and Villains.
