The Epic
I have an idea for a story. A collab story. I'll post the first bit, and anyone who wants to can add on after that! You can write as much or as little as you wish, just make sure that you can see the last post before you put anything up.

The glowing sun beat down, it's rays like talons of fire raking across the little valley. The sky was clear, and a few birds wheels across it, probably looking for food in the barren landscape.

Actually, Rose bud, no his sword isn't made out of glass, except I was going to explain later that his sword can only knock out the monsters. It's kind of like a tazer yah know? It knocks them out for only about a half an hour or less depending on how big/strong the monsters are. I was going to explain that in another comment but I didn't have time. Sorry for the confusion!

Tez whirled toward the sound, expecting to see a hulking gray breast launching itself at him. At least he would die in a pretty place, near rushing water and a tall forest. He wondered if anyone would ever find his body...hopefully a nice parting ceremony...burned, and then scattered to the winds...
But it was not a monster. It was Sol, riding behind a tall woman on a majestic black horse. As they crashed out of the trees and toward Tez, Sol yelled, "Grab my hand, boy!"
As they rode past him, Sol put a hand down and grabbed Tez's (uninjured) arm, hoisting him with great strength onto the horse. The beast was very powerful too, as it maintained its great speed, laden as it was with passengers.
"Who- Where-" gasped Tez, trying to get his questions out and answered.
"No time!" cried the woman. "Just hold on tight, we're nearly there!"
"And don't ask where there is!" added Sol. He had known the boy for mere hours, and yet already knew his tendencies.
Tez gripped the horse with his legs, and the woman in front of him about the waist. He could tell that she was very strong, much stronger than any females he knew. They galloped forward, leaving the forest and monsters far behind in their wake.
----------
After about an hour of hard riding, Tez could see what he thought was their destination. A huge cliff towerd above them, with many structures jutting out of it. They were of all shapes and sizes, made of the same stone as the cliff. Occasionally a window peeped out, or a door onto a balcony. There were a few open caves in the wall, immense gaping mouths with colorful rags of fabric hanging about their entrances.
Tez stared at the wonderous city in awe, but they bypassed it and kept riding west. The sun was setting, and the sky was streaked with oranges, pinks, and purples.
"We will arrive soon," said the woman. "We are making for the ocean."

That was a really beautiful description, Rae! Loved it!
~
Tez heard the ocean before he saw it. The gentle rythem seemed to pulse life through the barren forest. The trees flying past now were bedecked with leaves, and the air no longer felt dry and dead in his lungs. The cliffs to one side began to grow smaller, breaking up into huge mounds of weather-beaten rock. And then, abruptly, the forest ended, and Tez could see the ocean. It was more water than he had ever seen in his life, stretched out as far as he could see. Waves of white foam rolled over the shadowed water and folded over, scraping at the beach. The huge horse's hooves (sry couldn't resist the aliteration moment) began churning up sand that flew out behind them.
Tez couldn't take his eyes off the ocean as the powerful waters edged up on the sand; closer and closer with every wave. When one of the waves licked the tips of the beautiful horse's flying hooves, Tez realized with a start that they were heading straight into the water.
"Sol!" He cried, twisting around as the water rose about them and the horse's progress became slowed.
"Sit tight and hold on!" Sol yelled over the noise of the water. The majestic beasst was now swimming instead of walking; and the water soaked the edges of his robes and sprayed the tips of the woman's flowing hair.
