Fractured Fairy Tale!

So somehow I got to talking with some of my classmates about whether or not Gaston was a profound character. My argument was no: unlike the Beast, he has no real struggles with himself, and remains purely evil. Although this dynamic character sets the static character of the Beast off better (they are villian and hero, after all), he really is a rather cliche character. So, as any writer would do, I promised to write a backstory for Gaston, to give him a little texture. Of course, it would lead up to the old cartoon version, instead of being a backstory for the new one.

Any ideas on how I can make this unique, real, and more-modern feeling (even though I'm keeping it in the original time period)? Any ideas? I will probably tailer your ideas in order to make them original, but I will give you credit and ask permission for changes.

Thanks y'all!

Ooh, this will be interesting! I've actually been thinking about this for awhile; I wanted to write a fractured fairytale of Beauty and the Beast but I'm not sure how to go about it. I'm afraid I don't have any idea for you right now, but if I do, illybe sure to come back and post them!,

Well, for Gaston, I was thinking that he isn't plain evil, maybe he is just . . . has a weak resolve, a coward, like, 99.99999999 % evil?
