Help me. I am stuck in a small room with a single door and a wood table. I don't remember where I am, or who I am. Should I look around more, or bash open the door with the table?

Hmmm... you want to get out, so bashing the door isn't a bad idea....
But at the same time, what if you find a key, or something else that would help you after you bash the door open, if you do?
I vote:
Look around more.

Whoever put you in there (if someone did put you in there) probably thought that the table wouldn't be enough to bust you out or that it would use all your physical strength. If you use all your physical strength to bust out, then where is the strength to run or escape? Or how about your mind's strength? It needs to be strong too.
You say a small room, so looking around won't take that much time. I vote look around first. I don't know what you would find, but maybe some keys to your past or identity. Or some real keys.. Besides you can always use the table to bash open the door later.
This is a cool idea!

Always investigate before you act.
I vote: Look around more.

Wait, I have found my diary! And I hear a loud noise coming from outside. Do I try to escape, or read the diary?

Escape with the diary and read it later.

If the loud noise sounds like it's right outside the door, I would read the diary. If it's dangerous you can't escape if it's right there. If it sounds far enough away and dangerous, I would run.

Cool idea!!!
I'd say skim the diary first. If it's here with you, either you put it here, or whoever put you here wanted you to have it for some reason. There might be a key or some such hidden inside. Even if there isn't, there might be some insight as to what the heck happened, especially if you skip to the most recent entries.

Ok, I am reading the diary.
Ahhh! It's too horrible- I can't leave here!
Ahhhhhh!
It says that I am hiding here as part of a horrible experiment.
Do I read more, or escape? The noise has gone.
(April 27, 2017 - 6:24 pm)
I vote escape. Get out as fast as you can.

Read more, definitely. If you're hiding here, this room should be fairly safe to read in, and the diary might say more about the specifics of the experiment, i.e. what the noise could be and when (or whether) it'll be safe to make a break for it.
