She swallowed and closed her eyes, her heart pounding in her ears. It was as if the world was whistleing around her, spinning like a whirlwind. Her father's words echoed in her head. You have been chosen, Merideth. You are the one.

The world is in darkness and you have been chosen to bring it back to the light. You and seven others were born with a speciel power. When you were born, the certain circumstances you were in created a powerful force in your soul, your element. For example, if you were born in a cottage unprotected from a howling storm, your parents not having the money to send you to hospital, your element would be air. Anyway, you are forced away from your family to a boarding school for the gifted. There are evil forces trying to take over your powers, turning you into ond of them. That is why you must go. They will protect you...

Age: 16 Please none under 13
Appearance: long, straight brown hair down to her waist that she wears braded into pig-tails. She wears brown leather tunics and grey leggings with lace up brown boots and aa black leather belt. She is usually seen with a large cross bow. She has pale skin with a light sprinkling of freckles.
Personality: clever, wise and ruthless, Merideth has a stubborn personality. She is selfless and kind, often away in the clouds.
Power: air
Born in: a blizzard whirlwind unexpectedly, two weeks before due. She was born in her parents cottage after the howling wind swept away the only source of light and warmth, the fireplace.
Secrets: As her family is extremely poor, she breaks the law to survive by hunting in a forest next to her house. She doesnt want to, but with out the food, her family would starve.
Other: She has a little sister called Rose. She is looking for a friend...
If more than seven people are interested, they can become the back ground charries, such as parents. By the way, we need a mix of nice people and not so nice people. And a mix of guys and girls. Thanks!

Name: Parker Silvanus
Age: 14
Appearance: Tall and strong looking, with tanned skin, curly dark brown hair, and piercing green eyes. Wears very simple clothes in mostly shades of brown and green. Wears glasses.
Personality: Quiet, hardworking, courageous and adventurous. Wise, and smart. A good listener, even if he doesn´t talk much. Loves nature and the environment.
Power: Nature
Born in: A quiet and peaceful forest where he was born, then lived up until he was taken to the boarding school. (more on that later)
Secrets: Both parents died shortly after he was born in a freak accident, leaving him with nothing. Luckily, a female deer from the forest found baby Parker crying, and brought him back, where she protected him until he was 9, when hunters looking for geese accidentially shot and killed her. He knew how to take care of himself by then, but he became very sad and almost reclusive.

Born in: A desert where there had been clouds over the sun for three weeks before he was born, but the cloud cover broke just as he was born
Secrets: Closest to being recruted to the evil forces

@BlueBird, since you actually requested before many people joined, you can be an important part of the plot. maybe someone evil? The headmistress of the boarding school? Anything you choose. If your stuck, you can ask people for suggestions. Oh, and yes, this is fantasy themed.
