She staggered into
She staggered into her old home, looking around. In short, it was bewildering. New faces ran about in the streets, all calling to one another happily.
They didn't know. It was better that way, she knew, but it still hurt not to have her and her friends' names called out instead. These new neighbors, should have been her friends too.
But instead, she had chosen to tear up her roots, and try and hide her broken heart again. She had to drop by, and say hello. Ask how everyone was doing.
And make it alright. If she just came back once; not to stay, but to say hello, to make it feel better. It still hurt, that much was obvious.
It would never stop hurting, but some things might deaden the pain a little; rust the edge of the sword. Some things like extending a hand in friendship once more. With some, she had already.
But she had to extend this to the place, too. They would welcome her back, it was true. But they had rebuilt without her, and it felt so, very different.
Now, she was ready to make peace, and lay all of the old ghosts of the pasts to rest. And with that, she stood up on the soapbox, and yelled, "So, how are you all doing?"

Cho!! It's been forever seen I've seen you. I saw your name on Inkwell, and I thought maybe you came back only on Inkwell and I just never saw. Ah well, at least you are still visiting. Everything's doing great here! I haven't been around very much, so I can't really say all the new people, ideas, etc. that's been going around. As for myself, I'm good. Just turned sixteen last Sunday, officially homeschooled, and I got published in Canvas: Literary Magazine, so I'm really happy about that. Otherwise, taking things calmly, trying to pull in my scattered thoughts into collected ideas.
So how are things for you going? Oh, and I love how you wrote this post!

Thank you! I know how it is moving, before we moved where I lived now, we were constantly switching homes. For a time, I think we moved like 3 or 4 times in a year. I hope you like where you are living now!

Thank you for the well wishes, but we actually haven't moved yet! We got the move pushed back so that we could adopt my younger brother (Not biologically related to me and my sisters), and now we're actually starting to pack/get rid of things.
