Kaleidoscope

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope

too much crying

too much lying

too much dying

trying trying trying

to hold on to the sliver of hope

that disappears when you get close

kaleidoscope

jumble of colors, feelings, emotions,

you say nope

you've tried to cope

but the road you're on is a downward slope

and it gets too steep

and you're losing sleep

and you've tried to keep

your faith

but faith doesn't really pay off

unless you've got the heart

you've got the heart

to

stayl

awake.

you used to believe in magic

but the magic was all used up

and now you sit in your room in silence

turning your kaleidoscope.

Author's Note~ I haven't been active on the Inkwell at all lately, so I decided I'd share this poem with you. Also, because Ode to Sleep by Twenty One Pilots was stuck in my head while writing this, I unknowingly wrote this poem as a song in that tune, if you start at the right spot. Oops. Anyways, hope you like it! Thanks for reading!
