13 years ago the world was struck with a surge of tatanic earthquakes.
Japan was swallowed beneath the ocean's surface----taking two thirds of China along with it.
That was just one of the many casualties.
No one knew what had caused the tectonic playes to shift with such force. Till Months later- after a FedEx delivery plane crashlanded on a volcanic island on the pacific ocean.
An island that wasn't there before.
Germany was the first to send troops there-
They didn't come back.
Russia followed, but with the same conclusion.
America sent a team of the best scientists as well as a fleet of emergency back-up.
All that returned was a slip spattered with blood.
~✴~
Its now 2057, and president Terrilly is following up on his promise-
Pompeii will be habited.
Just as soon as it is scouted first.

Rachael (finally)~
I strained to open my salt choked eyes, reaching a tentative finger for my aching forhead.
Everything hurt.
Everything was sore.
Everything throbbed.
Everything just.... Eeugh.
I grasped the bedside and sorely eased myself from the dewy sheets, quickly squeezing my temples to abate the oncoming headache.
"The headache coming on again?"
I glanced up and nodded painfully, Geargie Peters was standing expectantly before me.
He was a nurse and had been working with me for a couple weeks now. I supposed the seisures were getting better, but only to a degree. The head doctors were busy with hundredz of other patients who all seemed to be suffering by some kind of transmittable disease they were calling Dengue.
He held out a rough callused hand that I took freely. I glanced back down at my legs and groaned. I'd slept in my deck clothes....again.
Georgie pulled me to my feet and chuckled.
"You look like you just jumped out of a frying pan."
I prodded ove my head and groaned.
"My hairs been cursee."
He laughed.
Georgie led me through the passenger quarters and then down a hall, back up a few stairs past the kitchens and then through white door noticed "infirmary"
The room was littered with ailing sailors and unconscious men and women. Doctors and nurses flew from one bed to another, checking temperatures, typing numbers, and whisking beds from one area to another. My stomach flipped when I noticed a girl about my edge hooked hip to a makeshjift blood typing machine.
I felt a warm presence slip into my hand and I glanced up. Georgie was watching her too.
"The dengue is getting worse. In fact we're not even sure it Dengue anymore."
I locked eyes with him. He squeezed my hand.
"You scared?" I whispered.
He chuckled. "we're not even there yet and already we've run into a whole boatload of problems."
I laughed, but it was forced. "The island will have cute little monkeys and fuzzy butterflys, think of that OK."
He smiled but I could see the darkness writhing behind his eyes.
Aileen.
I would never stop grieving.
Georgie led my through one last door and then ushered me to sit on a worn stool.
"Doctor Dereads will be in shortly" he murmered.
I gave him a look.
"They're just headaches worrywart, I'll need a few painkillers and done."
Georgie suddenly looked very uncomfortable.
"Well..um.." There was a rather loud shuffle of shoes against floor and doctor Dereads entered.
I gave him a confused expression. "What's going on?"
He pressed a thermometer to my head but didn't answer.
Georgie sided over to a corner and began to play with his fingers nervously.
Dereads ignored him and started taking DNA samples.
After a few minutes he stood up straight and motioned for Georgie to come closer.
I stared at both of them for a moment, "what's wrong?"
Dereads cleared his throat and leaned closer, just enough that I could see a light brushing of stubtle across his chin.
"We know what the disease is now."
Sorry its awful but I'm tired and its late and myh brain is dead:(
(October 26, 2016 - 9:38 pm)
It's not awful! Thanks for keeping this topped!
~Aileen
The island comes into view, and the land gets bigger. The current carries the greenhouse toward it, more... more... There's a small bump, and I jump out, wobbling in the shallow water. I'd gotten used to the rocking of the boat and greenhouse. Now the land felt like it was moving around!
I got back into the water, and shoved the greenhouse with all my might onto the sandy beach. It sat right in the middle of it like a sanctuary, and I sat down against it, looking out into the bright ocean.
The ship was nowhere in sight. What if... no, I couldn't think it. Of course the ship wouldn't have sunk! The greenhouse didn't even sink; a mighty boat would definitly be okay! But still, I worried. I walked back into the greenhouse, aware of the pain gnawing away at my stomach. I told myself to ignore it. Soon enough, the ship would come with more food. Soon.
I let Rosy and Ronan out, and the fly away. I watch them with squinted eyes, hoping that they would fill their stomachs and fly back to me. I walk back into the greenhouse, and bring Vincent out. I stroke his scaly body, then carefully release him onto the beach, saying, "Come back soon. I've treated you nicely enough, right? You should want to come back to me."
Vincent hisses, and I take that as a yes, letting him slither free. I turn around and look at the ocean again. Still no ship. I take a deep breath. Better go find some food! That strange fruit was hardly enough for me. I'd had some more since I'd eaten the first one. They were quite good, but I sure needed some variety!
If it's a tropical island, there had to be coconut trees! I thought to myself, looking up. Sure enough, there were some brown coconuts bonking together in some of the trees. I jumped up and pulled off one of the lower ones, wondering how to get it open.
I walk back into the greenhouse, looking around for a sharp tool. After a while, I find a small knife, one that was used to cut fruits from the greenhouse. I take it out, and shove it with all my strength into the coconut shell, and it splits into two, spilling coconut milk all over me. I lick my lips, and smile. Mmmm. It tastes good.
I work a small piece of the meat from the shell and slip it into my mouth, chewing it. It makes my belly feel like it's eating something, which feels good. I stand up, looking at the jungle. Should I go in? Or should I stay on the beach and wait for the boat? I sit down, looking out into the ocean, and decide to wait for a while, then go into the jungle.

Thank goodness I had vacinated myself before everyone else. I can't get the virus now. And now I know what it is...
We have (insert desease name here) on this ship.
What should the virus be?
(October 27, 2016 - 11:37 pm)
TOP! Please, top! I will not let my favorite RP die!
(October 30, 2016 - 5:15 pm)
Toptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptoptop, PLEASE. POST! TOP!
(November 1, 2016 - 3:11 pm)
Okay, someone seriously needs to think of the virus's name.
Pierre
~
Luckily for me, I'd been exposed to pretty much every virus in the world on my father's ships, so I barely ever get sick. I didn't have the virus everyone else did. I was physically fine, but sick at heart.
I didn't know if I wanted to reach the island or not. Would Aileen be there? If she wasn't...
I figured I would never really learn English now. I wouldn't be able to stand it.
There are only about five people, including me, still healthy and not pale and wan from past illness. We stand on the deck in a rare free moment, staring out to sea. I don't know these people, but I would bet most of their problems are the same as mine.
I watch the sun set, flooding the ocean with color. I don't speak. I haven't spoken in the last week. How do you grieve when no one understands your words? Maybe grief transcends language barriers.
Finally, finally, a small piece of land comes into view. The island! We're here!
~~~
Post. And Aileen needs to find them quickly. This is getting kind of depressing.
(November 1, 2016 - 4:59 pm)
The dead bodies are increasing, and I am still glad I used the one dose of vaccine for myself. After all, someone needs to tell the world of this discovery.
(November 1, 2016 - 5:25 pm)
Hey guys! I am REALLY SORRY for not posting! I'll try to check this/write for this more often.
I was thinking about finding Aaron a romantic interest. Could he like anyone's charrie?
Aaron~
The virus has spread through the ship like a bulldozer, catching everyone in its wake. Everyone, that is, except for me and a few others.
I've been working nonstop, taking care of sick patients. This virus is like nothing I've seen before. First, the victim develops a cough. Then, a rash breaks out, that is followed by a coma-like state. Almost everybody is asleep. Only a few have woken up. Several are dead.
I lean on the railing, looking out to sea. Beside me stands a tan, dark haired seventeen year old. I turn to him, and say "This is bad. At this rate, nobody will be well enough to explore Pompeii." He nods and, in broken English says "Very bad. Not good." I smile as I hear his French accent, and say (again, like last time, I'm using italics for French) I think we're almost there. He grins. I think I met your sister. I'm Pierre. I shake his hand. Nice to meet you. I'm Aaron. Now, I've got to get to work, so that the head doctor doesn't yell at me. See you around! With that, I sprint off, to see if anybody else has woken up.
Of course, nobody has.
(November 2, 2016 - 3:20 pm)
Autumn Leaves, Aaron can like Rose if you want. (Who hasn't posted yet but I'm working on that.)
Also, is this a new virus? I can rp once I know this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Genn say ppet. You're a puppet? Aren't you a pony? A puppet pony I guess. I can work with that.
(November 2, 2016 - 5:22 pm)
By new, I mean not a real virus. Not is there two viruses on the ship.
