Because everyone is using original names, I will as well. Scylla is now Riven.
☆Riven☆
My sensation of uneasiness increases as the door slams shut. I feel my wings flare protectively around me, arched slightly over my back. Beasts? What does he mean? I don't feel inclined to follow the masked man's instrucions, and after all, his threats were only of injury. He never said anything about death. Injury is expendable. Death..... isn't.
I close my eyes, inhaling deeply. Swallowing any fear I may have had, I straighten my back and step forward.
And then there is the riddle. Let's say that "swim" equals motion.... Without the mysterious concept, life cannot move, cannot go forward. I rack my mind, trying to think of what could possibly be the solution. Life can't continue without... what?

Are we allowed to ask family for help with the riddles?

After the walls burst, the mask-dude leads us to some weapons. Lovely. I don't feel at home with out my sai and throwing knives. I coat them with the strongest acid that won't melt the metal, and put the in my belt. Them I look at the riddle. Ummm, yeah no idea. If this is a contest, I am so going to lose. Ah well. I lean against the wall to think.

Sorry that I haven't posted yet! I'm thinking, so I'll post now. :)
Oh, and Dawn is good at outsmarting her opponents, usually to make them harm themselves. If all else fails, she has been training in hand-to-hand combat. Pretty good for a nerd, right?
Dawn~
'I'm supposed to be smart!' I chide myself. I do have the power of smartness, you could say. 'Could be water? No, no, no. That wouldn't be right, I believe. Hmm, possibly air? I believe air or water. I hope that the two conclusions are right. I should do as well to say it aloud.'
'Could it be air, or maybe water?' I say aloud and go backing to thinking, as that is all my mind is meant to do (that is not literal, I can also learn, feel, move, and all that my mind does).

Hmm. What can you kill or destroy that is essential to life? It uses you... Food? To grow crops? After all, it takes work to do that (uses you) and if you destroy it, you'll suffer. I don't know. That doesn't seem right. But I ask out loud anyways, "Is it food?"

No.

A) Top please!
B) Gared, this riddle is super hard.
C) I'm on a riddle email chain, can I ask this riddle on it?
D) The only thing I could think of was muscle. "Push me, pull me, (Using your muscles) let me use you, (Your muscles move you.) Beat me squeeze me kill me (Over working your muscles) but if I die, life is a shatter-finned fish that can not swim." (Over working to the point of hurting yourself)
CAPTCHA is genn. I think that's it's name. What else could it be? Hi Genn!

Ok, I will break it down little:
The end is a paraphrase of a famous poem, and I should have put:
Push me, pull me Beat me, squeeze me, kill me. Let me use you, for if I die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannon't fly.
And I would be fine if you posted it on that website, but give credit to Gared, please.

Oh! Now I know it! Of course! I forget the author, but the poem is
Hold fast to dreams
for if they die
life is a shatter winged bird
that cannot fly.
The answer is Dreams!

Yes!

I'm sorry, I don't get it. How does dreams fit with this part:Push me, pull me Beat me, squeeze me, kill me. Let me use you

You know how you get an idea, and you just work on it, or you have a dream that dies?
