NEW RP!!!!! Every

NEW RP!!!!! Everyone must join!!!

So, I wasn't exactly sure what to call this thread. But here's the idea: Imagine that all your favorite fantasy and science fiction book characters were sent to a normal middle school. They were brainwashed first, so they don't remember who they are. But, they have the same personalities, powers, and romances. Also note that if they were a different species than human in the book, they are human in this RP. I may change it to a high school depending on the age-range of our characters. You may have up to two charries. Make them creative!

Name: Use their character name as it is, or you can change it slightly to make it sound more human.

Character Name: Only if you changed their real name.

Age: No older than 18!

Powers (if any):

Appearance:

Personality: Same as in their story.

Romance (if any): Same as in their story.

Friends: Anyone.

Enemies: Anyone.

Elective: Anything you want.

SORRY!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry! My computer broke down at one point, and I also had lots of homework... you know the drill. I'm so sorry for the delay. Here are my charries:

Name: Lucy Carlyle

Character Name: Same

Age: I'm not sure... about 14?

Powers: She has the ability to listen to and hear ghosts. She can also detect traces of apparitions and spirits just by touching something. It would be a great twist if the school was built on top of the site of a prison or something, because then she would get lots of vibes.

Appearance: Rather stocky, jet-black hair, pale skin, loves to wear black, never wears dresses or anything fancy but not jeans either. She keeps instinctively reaching for the spot on her belt where her sword should be, but doesn't actually remember her past (like all of our charries).

Personality: Sarcastic and shrewd, always speaks her mind. She can't stand silly or "girly" girls, they make her skin crawl. She is very physically fit, okay at math and science, but has no patience for writing or extensive reading. Recently, she's been getting nervous about the voices she hears, especially when she touches a specific item.

Romance: None.

Friends: We shall see.

Enemies: None yet, I'm not sure how the story will impact that.

Elective: Gymnastics. If it is okay, there could be a gymnastics club/league.

Name: Artemis Fowl

Character Name: Same

Age: 14 (This would be him at the end of the fifth book)

Powers: A bit of fairy magic (Again, from the end of the fifth book)

Appearance: Pale and calculating, one icy blue eye and one brown one. Dark hair that is expertly slicked back. Wears suits.

Personality: EXTREMELY intelligent. Isolated, not sociable at all. He snaps a lot.

Romance: None.

Friends: Minerva Paradizo

Enemies: Belinda Zito, aka Opal Koboi (who also doesn't remember who she is)

Elective: Advanced computer math. He must go over to the high school to do it.

OK! Again, sorry about the delay. Anyone can now start us off, unless someone has not posted their charrie yet.

(I realized some of the characters are too old for middle school... 14 is the maximum age unless you've been held back a lot. So... people, you're going to have to change ages a bit! Also it's hard to write characters a lot older than you. Also remember that it's "a normal middle school. They were brainwashed first, so they don't remember who they are." So no carried-over plots from the books/movies.)

Cinder~ (I somehow can't ever start in 1st person... I'll switch over eventually. At least it's present tense right now).

Cinder shifts her backpack straps on her jacket. All summer, she's been used to just wearing her tank top, but it's chilly now and a few orange leaves, almost the color of the faded red hair tie holding her ponytail together, skid past her feet on the asphalt of the parking lot. The jacket is olive green, patched. It's old, but the fleece inside is still warm on her otherwise bare arms.

She looks down at her toes. The capri pants she's wearing expose a little bit of her left calf above her boot: her left calf is metal. Shiny titanium. She worked all night last night to scrub the grease from its cracks. She thinks it doesn't look too bad, but tugs her pant leg a little bit lower, as if hiding one centimeter will help. She's always felt only half-self-conscious about it: knowing she can't do anything about it, she's learned to answer curious questions politely and turn away from the stares.

The school's front doors are open. More leaves follow her in, brushing at the heels of her boots, as she walks up to the directory on one wall. Instantly, her vision is overlaid by a string of monospace text, informing her that "Information matched. Open file?"

Her retina display has done this since she was nine; she has a row of minimized web pages in a corner of her vision. Mentally, she gives the command to open the directory and schedule file windows from the row of minimized ones. Her retina display is connected to her brain interface. Easily, the two charts come up at the corner of her vision, letting her still see the world yet view the information seemingly purely from memory.

Her first class is English Honors. She's talked to the principal about this, and she isn't allowed to use her retina display in any class except engineering/technology and environmental science, because one of them is largely practical and the other one is outdoors and there are no tests. That's okay with her. She shoulders her backpack, still shifting uncomfortably, tugs at her ponytail to make sure it's still tight (though that doesn't exactly work; it'll always be a bit messy, with side bangs spiking out on both sides of her face), minimizes her schedule, and walks towards the English wing.

Oo cool! We're starting. The person who posted before me, Air, will probably be the one who started it off, but I can't wait!!!! >.<

~Despereaux

"Hey!" calls a high-pitched voice.

"Oh great," I mumble. It's him. The rat. With his long rat-ish nose, and his rat-ish laugh, and his mean, rat-ish friends.

"Hee hee hee! Hey, what kind of name is Despereaux?" he says. His rat-ish buddies giggle and poke at me.

I shudder slightly and try not to show that I'm afraid.

"It's French." I wiggle around nervously in my seat and stare out the window. I know what he's going to aim for next.

"Well what about your big ears--"

I groan. What about your big nose? I think.

"Ross, why do you have to be so mean?" asks a girl sitting in front of the bus. She turns her head around.

Ross suddenly bolts up straight. "Oh hey, Penelope--"

She gives the rat a deep, cold, hard stare.

Instantly, he backs down and keeps quiet, with his friends doing the same thing.

Suddenly, as Penelope resumes to her original posisition, our gazes meet. Just for a second, she actually notices me. She's the most popular girl in school. And I can see why everyone likes her. She's . . . beautiful . . . and kind.

After we stop looking at each other, it feels like an eternity has passed. But it was only a second. I sigh deeply and press my forehead against the window.

When the bus stops at the new school, I am quickly swept up into a fury of kids. They push and shove each other, mostly me, as I struggle to get out and not get trampled. Once I'm inside, I see many interesting people, including a girl who keeps reaching for her belt, a boy with a tooth necklace, and others.

They look pretty avaerage, but I have a feeling they're unique in some way. Everyone is.

After awkwardly staring at them for a long time, something inside me clicks. I'm not sure what it is, but it feels like I'm not who I am. Like I'm supposed to be somewhere else, some when else, something else.

I shrug and head to the first classroom.

Kudos to anyone who has read this book! :D

Ahh, Novelist, give me kudos! I love Kate DiCamillo.

Also, I'll be changing Luna's age to twelve, if that's okay.

Luna~
"Sir, I don't feel right doing this problem."

"I'm sorry?" Professor Dao (I have what they call an irritating habit of calling teachers professors) looks up from his tests. (of which I refused to take. Tests have bad karma.)

"Why am I doing this?" I gesture at the worksheet. "What is the point of splitting up this poor number into lots and lots of little bits? It's like I'm murdering it! And when I get to the end, well... what happens to the first number? Where does it go? And what does this answer do to me? Does it solve the problem of Wrackspurts in people's ears?"

Professor Dao sighs, although I don't know why. It's a perfectly understandable question. I don't want to be a murderer, and I really don't understand the logic of math. It's about as silly as tests.

"Luna," he says slowly, "That is not the point of the exercise. The point is to see if you understand the methods we are learning. The deeper philosophy is not needed."
"But that's what I'm confused about," I reply. "Will dividing a fraction and a decimal help me later on in life? What does it do for me? Will it help me hunt down Nargles?"

He groans.

I take out my sketchbook and continue my drawing of a Crumple-Horned Snorkack.

Alanna~

"But why do we need this stuff? It's just numbers and letters all jumbled together," I say, frustrated at how hard algebra is. The master of mathematics, or math teacher, as everyone else calls him, glares down at me.

"Alanna Trebond, algebra is a building block for everything to come in math. Do not be rude. It is important because I say it important and the state we live in say it's important for the SOLs," he informs me.

"But what can you do with it? Why do you say it's important? What's the SOLs?" I ask, even more confused. He just sighs, tells me not to be so impertanent, and says that if I ask a question everyone in the room knows the answer to one more time he will send me to the principal's office.

"But what are the SOLs?" I mutter, too low for him to hear.

"Standards of Learning. You know, that big test at the end of the year," a girl sitting next to me whispers. She has bushy brown hair, kind of big front teeth, and has answered every question the teacher asked.

"Thanks. What's your name, anyway? I'm Alanna Trebond, but the teacher kind of already announced that."

"I'm Hermione Granger."

I start to work on the math problems, but algebra is so hard. I get stuck on the second one but I don't want to go to the teacher. He already dosn't like me. I sigh and start to stroke my cat, Faithful. He probably isn't allowed in classes, but he follows me everywhere and if I try to leave him outside he yowls really loudly. I feel a tap on my shoulder. It's Hermione.

"Need help?" she asks kindly.

"Yeah," I say reluctantly. Asking for help is hard. She explains the work to me, much better than the master did. The bell rings and I scoop Faithful onto my shoulder and my books into my bag. Time for the next period. I check my schedule. English is next. Hopefully it will be easier than math.
