I'm not too

Chatterbox: Inkwell

I'm not too

I'm not too good at poetry, but sometimes a poem just pops into my head. This is one of them.

SPRING IS HERE

Spring came in overnight

And touched the ground and trees

Now there's rain instead of snow

And the leaves are turning green

Spring came in overnight

And touched the trees and ground

The river starts to flow again

And Spring is all around

I just felt like posting that. Oh, maybe if you gave me an idea for a poem, I could try to make a poem about it. If they were about horses that would be even better, because I'm trying to make a horse poem book for my friend, but I ran out of ideas.

I don't think it's bad!

A horse poem? How about a runaway horse, finding its way around? Or a horse eating grass describing the taste? (or hay) Or something like what it feels like when people ride on your back (from the horse's point of view!)

Or a wild horse, either

a) being free and then being caught by humans, but escaping

b) describing what it's like to run as wild as the wind

Okay, how about this:

The Mustang’s King

There he’s standing, black and brilliant
While his mane whips in the wind.
Now he trumpets, clear and soaring
Telling all that he is king.

There! He’s running, free and graceful
Watch him skim across the ground.
Now he’s whirling, quick as lightning
Striking wolf and lion down.

There he’s standing, proud and noble
Spark of victory in his eyes.
Now he’s rearing, tall and threat’ning
As if to say, “The world is mine!”
