I like the mysterious, ethereal snow leopard and the cute, fuzzy (not to mention LAZY) red panda.

That's a tough question for me! I like sloths and mice and rats and even hairless cats. My favorite? Um...I'd say a cute and fat white and tan hooded rat.

My favorite animals are OWLS!!!!!!!!!! I love owls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Laughing

Allow me to explain.

Sure owls are cute and pretty. Plus there's TONS of owl merchandise...owl t shirts, owl bags, owl keychains, owl necklaces, owl figurines....and trust me, I have all of that. (If you're favorite animal is a yellow bellied salamander or something like that, well, let's just say it's not exactly easy to find salamander t-shirts. :) :P)

But what really amazes me and makes me so drawn to owls is the remarkable creatures themselves, not the way they're portrayed in society. There are so many types...my favorite species is the barn owl. (See picture below..)

First of all, their plumage. They're feathers and their build and jsut the way they look...it's a mysterious beauty. And the eyes aree so intellectual. If you really think about it and you look into them, you'll see more than just a pure black eye or yellow with a black circle in the middle. They have so much....depth. Not in this particular picture...but anyway, so yeah. 

And they're cool. They have AMAZING hearing, especially barn owls, which have the most acute hearing of any animal on Earth. They can hear a mouse's heartbeat from a KILOMETER away!!! A barn owls ear slits are not actually parallel to each other; one is slightly above the other. This allows them to hear a wider range of sound.

They also fly silently. Almost all owls have these special feathers  that fringe their wings called plummels, so they can fly and not make any noise at all.

Lastly, they have amazing vision. 

Sorry if I'm packing you with information, but I am just really passionate about these creatures!!!!!! Hope you include them in your story.....
