ROUND ROBIN!!!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

ROUND ROBIN!!!

ROUND ROBIN!!!

Yes, something besides roleplays for once!

Speaking of roleplays, let's SLOW DOWN the roleplays, maybe? Just a little? You don't have to post every second, and when you do post take your time and make it look lovely.

And now, for the sentence...es.

Sam smiled, pressing her nose against the frosty glass, pulling back with giggles at the strange imprint it had left on the glass.  She turned and ran to her mother, clinging to her side, "Mother? Are my mittens ready yet?"

Mother smiled, patting Sam on her head, causing her golden curls to bounce as if they were jumping for joy. "Yes my dear. Go and put on your boots and hat."

Sam did as she was told, even grabbing her warm, foxskin coat. Her mother smiled, holding out the mittens, knitted with interwoven blues and greens. Sam quickly put them on and kissed her mother on the cheek before hurrying out the door. She looked up the grey sky and squealed, a snowflake landing on her cheek.

"Snow!" she exclaimed, running as fast as she could, yet paying no attention to her surroundings as trees began to surround her.

What is round robin?

I definitely should have plained that. Guess I got caught up in the moment!

A Round Robin, also know as RR, is a really fun thingy.  So basically, one person starts off a story with a sentence. Or however much they want. Then other Cbers add more to the story. Like:

Cber1: The girl screamed and covered her face, panic overtaking any logic she ever head.

Cber2: The wolves surrounded her, slowly creeping forward when...

Cber3: Suddenly a giant fox with a shot gun was in the place ofthe wolves, who had turned and tumbled head over heels away.

You can write more for a turn and all. Also, you can go multiple times, try not to go twice in a row, unless you are trying to save the story or something.

I hope that helped!

Okee-doke! Here goes!

___

Sam chased the snowflakes with her tongue sticking out and her arms stretched wide. Once in a while she would feel something tap the tongue, just ever so lightly, and she would give a giggle of delight, then go back to her chasing routine.

After a while, the child began to get a little out of breath, and she turned back towards home.

But where was home?

All around her there was only thick, needled pine trees. They obscured her vision and she wondered how she had even gotten to the position she was in, surrounded by low-hanging trees. Her lower lip began to tremble as her heart swelled with fear, and soon icy, salty tears were dripping down her frozen, cold cheeks.

"Mama!"

Then she heard a soft, feminine voice from above say, "Do not fear, child. I am the Spirit of this tree. Trees are friends to innocent men such as yourself."

That was when she realized that the sound was coming from a huge, beautiful tree standing before her. The breeze gently flowed through its leaves, and it looked as if its branches were caressing the air.

By "men" I mean mankind.

The tree, which resembled a willow, then said, "My name is Sylvianna. I will help you find your home."

Sylvianna lifted Sam up into her boughs and then-very surprisingly to Sam- uprooted herself from the ground and began walking!!!

Sam hugged the tree, her tears freezing upon her cheeks as the cold wind nipped at her rosy face. "Home?" She asked, wanting to be sure.

The tree spoke, a smile hinting in its voice, "What is left of home, my dew drop."

Sam suddenly felt all of the feeling fall from her body and tumble toward the ground. "W-what is...left?"

"Your home almost went down in flames. My sweet dew drop, your mother is- alive! Miraculously, she is alive!" The tree said, staring into space as if describing what was happening. But this can't be true, Sam thought desperately. My home! Oh, I hope Mom is OK.... Sam summed up her feelings. "Wait, my mother is in danger?"

"Yes, very grave danger indeed," the tree said matter-of-factly then continued, "The evil is near. The yarn from the mittens she was knitting you were wrapped around her like a giant sock around a foot until she wriggled free. You know, she really needs to get new yarn. That one's very flammable."

"I-I-I don't know what to say," I tried.

"I know what you should say," the tree put in. "We need to get home to save your mother!"

"Let's go!" Sam agreed. "But exactly what kind of danger are we dealing with here?"

Hope this wasn't too much, I've never done this before...

This is the best Round Robin I have ever been in.

We glide through the forest till we get to the edge of the forest. Else my pet wolf is  sitting next to a pile of charged remains of the house and howling. Sylvianna set Sam down into the cold snow. Sam ran weeping to  what was left of the house. Else stoped howling and gave Sam a mornful lick. Sylviana walked over and looked sadly at the remains of the house. Then she gasped and said"' Oh my goodness it is worse than I thought. Child, Sam your mother has been captured by the Snow Queen. I must take you away from here for some deep evil magic still lurks here. it is faint magic but I can fell it all the way to my roots. "

Sam shivers, wrapping her arms around herself. She kicks a chunk of wood, embers still glowing along it. She looks up to Else, the small half-wolf, half-dog of the north, and there's something in her eyes, something changes. The sparkly grey, almost silver, of her eyes, turns to a cold, hard steel.

"We must go now," says Sylvianna, nervously. "We must run. There is dark magic."

Sam turns, bitterly glaring at the remains of the house. "Alright. Let's go."

Sylvianna glided quickly through the forest surrounding Sam's cottage with Sam in her branches. Sam thrust her head into the wind while clutching Sylvianna's bark, and felt her tears drift away into the strong breeze. More tears were forming, though.

I shouldn't have left the house. I was so stupid.

She adored dear Whiley, her wolf-dog. Watching his mystical, beautiful eyes grow cold squeezed her heart so much that she thought it may have broken. Her only reassuring thought was that she was going to save her mother with Sylvianna, no matter what she had to do.

But that was the problem. She had no idea what she had to do. The tree spirit did, however, so Sam, turning her face away from the numbing breeze, spoke. Her voice was quiet and broken at first  after having not spoken for so long, but after a few words it returned. "What are we... What are we doing? Where are we going?" Sam asked, turning her face up to the tree spirit, who smiled down at her.

"That, my dewdrop, is a surprise. One you will rather enjoy, I believe," the tree said, its voice soothing and deep, with a little shimmer of magic lining it.

Sam thrust her face into the wind again, her brown hair flowing out behind her, almost perfect matching the tree spirit's bark. Her cheeks and nose grew red and she put her mitten hands up to her face, squinting as the wind nipped at her.

Soon Sam had drifted off to sleep, not warm, but safe, in the tree spirit's grand arms.
