Romance?
I have never incorporated romance in any of my books. No, nuh uh, no way. But the books I write are middle-grade/teen. I don't think anybody except me will like them because there is no romance. So, do you think I should incorporate romance? Bleh.

Hm... I'm not sure. I think there's a line, though, that you have to tread. Like, look at Rick Riordan. His Percy Jackson didn't have as much romance, and it was good, but by Heroes of Olympus it got really romance-y, and it's not liked as much. Personally, I prefer romance-less books, but I think to appeal to more audiences you could try having boy/girl friendship, just nothing graphically mushy.
Hope this helped!

It wasn't as good?! I honestly think it was better. Just my opinion, though....
My suggestion to you is to not write, you know, love stories. But most teenage kids like that kind of thing. Plus, it can come in handy; gives a good plot twist, like in PJO? When they find out Luke was a traitor? And how much Annabeth liked him? That was a good turn.
So that's my suggestion. Sneak it in a bit, and try to make it part of some sort of "conflicting emotions" if you can.

But I struggle to write romance because it's so... romance-y. I was (in one of my books) contemplating the main character falling in love with the villain. I didn't, though.
