It's s a long train ride, and I can feel the other ponies' stares baring down at my back. My Woden wings give them reason enough to stare, but I can't take them off. They're all I have left of home right now, before I'll get to Ponyville and meet the rest of my family, who have already moved in. Maybe it was silly, being an earth pony living in Cloudsdale for all these years, but I loved it. There was a certain thrill, being that high up I the air. It felt powerful, free.
But there was also the pain. I wasn't a real pegasus, and that seemed to be the only thing anyone could ever remember. "There goes Echo, still pretending she can fly." And then they would laugh. Never playingly, always cold, hard and--
The train stops, jolting me from my thoughts. We're here. In Ponyville. I step off the train.
