Chatterbox: Inkwell

Sorry about the other post with my first CB novel chapter in it. It was formatted weirdly since I typed it on Word first, so hopefully this version will be easier to read!

Also - this is my own work, and I worked hard on it, so don't steal it and I'll let you read it for free. Okay? ;)

So, without further ado...

An explosion thundered in the ears of its surrounding observers.

Nora the Singer squealed, along with the majority of the girls strewn nearby, including Nina, Madeline, and Butterfly.

Joe the Stickfiddler and Red rolled their eyes, pretending to be tough and manly as the fireworks blazed in the opaque, vivid sky. Blonde Heroines Rule, Everinne, and Melody snickered.

Nora the Singer hopped up and down hysterically. She'd always been one of the most enthusiastic Chatterbox-ers on Cricket. She also happened to be a complete space cadet, class clown, and fashionista, which didn't exactly mix well.

"It's just a couple of devices containing gunpowder and other combustible chemicals that explode when ignited," Red muttered. "Girls are so emotional. Right, Joe?"

When he turned to his friend, all that appeared in his line of vision was Joe himself, his eyes glued to the sky in wonder. Red sighed dramatically, irritably concluding that the display had not only piqued all of the girls' interests, but also Joe the Stickfiddler's.

The deep voice lies, Red thought. Am I the only guy here?
