Hi, I'm new
Hi, I'm new to le Chatterbox! My name is Lavender. I think you knew that, but I'm simply recapping. It is my real name - I couldn't think of a good penname so I went with Lavender. Eh.
Here are 5 facts about moi!
-Je suis francaise.
-Don't worry, I speak English too.
-I was born in Nice, France and then I moved to the US when I was 9.
-I am a gymnast and cheerleader.
-My hair is super pale brown but I did dye the tips - you guessed it - lavender!
Uh, yeaaaaaaaah!
So...HI!

Hi Lavender! I'm new on the CB too! I don't speak French, but I wish I did! I've been getting Cricket family magazines since I was about 5 years old, but I just now got on the chatterbox after my sister (@TheChocabookaholic, also new here) recommended it. I love the Mysterious Benedict Society, LOTR, Anne of Green Gables, The Narnia books, The Little House books, 80s TV shows, and I'm also homeschooled! Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome, Pearl! I had Babybug, Ladybug, Spider, Cricket, and will forever love them all! My sister also gets Ask and Spider. I LOVE THE LITTLE HOUSE BOOKS, TOO! :)
(As you can see, I wrote in English since you don't speak French. ;) I recommend the app Duolingo, if you have an Apple device - it teaches you French fast! I grew up speaking French and used Duolingo to learn English. Super fun and easy!)

Thanks for the app suggestion! I'll be sure to look it up!

I got the app and I love it! Ps if anyone else wants to casually learn a language, I highly recommend this FREE app! I also thought for free it would just be very basic stuff, but it actually has a ton of content. :) I was doing Rosetta stone Spanish ($$) in seventh grade but I hated it, and wanted to learn more foreign language and this is great. It is set up nicely, where it's more like a game than schoolwork.

YES! Exactly, it's quite amazing! Have fun learning French! :D
P.S. LOVE your location. ;)

Greetings, Lavender of the lavender hair! My older sister kind of spoiled my intro because we have a lot in common, but here it is:
1) I love chocolate. And books. And obsessing.
2) Besides the books my sister listed, I also like The Theif Lord, Inkheart, and anything Kate DiCamillo.
3) I love France, wish I could have a French accent, and lavender is my favorite color! ( Along with pea green.)
4) I am part unschooled, and I mostly spend my time pondering the meaning of life, and what chocolate thing I would like just about now.
5) I like some types of indie, like the Avett Bros.
Anyways, have fun on Chatterbox!!!!!!!!

Hiiiiiiii! Merci!
What does "part unschooled" mean? I want that.
:D

Well, unschooling means that you don't have any textbooks or assigned work, you just learn from the world around you, the internet, whatever books interest you, field trips, and any other method you want. Unschooling seems like kids wouldnt learn as much, but it's actually known for encouraging kids to actually want to learn instead of being forced to.
We have textbooks for core subjects (history, science, math, etc.) like typical homeschoolers, but for more elective-type subjects (music, PE, art, theology, foreign language, etc.) we get to pick what we want to do that day, like unschoolers. We also generally pick what we want to write about, what books we want to read (as long as they are good literary choices), and what field trips we want to go on (Sometime this spring or summer I'll be going on an international trip!) Next year I'll be going to school, and picking my own books is something I'll miss.

Bonjour, Lavender! Je suis Mag Fan! I'm taking a little French, so I can understand a little of what you say! I'm homeschooled. I love to read and write. I'm also in NaNoWrimo and Camp NaNoWrimo this year. I look forward to talking with you some more!
A tout a lour! (I'm not sure if I spelled that right; I'm REALLY BAD at spelling things in French ;P)
P.S. You do a GREAT JOB speaking, spelling in, and writing English! I wish I could be that good in French! I guess I could, if I continued my French lessons; I've been really busy with my school work and estra-curricular activities, so I haven't studied French for a little while. ;)

Merci beaucoup!
Thank you very much! I could not quite catch the "lour" comment, but Google Translate could probably help you. (: Thank you, I am fluent in English and French, and I homeschool in English, too, but I speak French around the house ... As the English language is easier for you, French language is easier for me ... it's very fun, just study a lot, and everyone will think you are actually French!
(March 7, 2014 - 4:16 pm)
What I meant to say was "See you soon!" I guess I don't know how to spell correctly in French! ;P Oh, well. Nice to meet you! Do you do NaNoWrimo?
Spammy says ndrp. End my RP, Spammy? Sorry, but I haven't started an RP; I'm just in one.

Oops, that was formatted weirdly.

Hey Lavender!
I'm Everinne, complete and utter Bookworm, complete and utter fan of Lord of the Rings and Tom Hiddleston (the actor) and complete and utter fan of the books of Rick Riordan, Robin McKinley, Kate DiCamillo, and Agatha Christie. I'm homeschooled, a Christian and incorrigible romantic (and occasional cynic). I never read teen books, though. I've taken a stance.
The CB is one of the best places in the Internet World!!!!
I am also writing two novel simultaneously, which is something of a headache.
Nice to have a new face around here, Lavender!
(March 7, 2014 - 7:40 pm)
Thanks, Everinne! I agree. J'adore le CB!
What are the names of your two novels? :)
(March 8, 2014 - 10:56 am)
One is The New Life of Gracie Adams* and the other is The Conjuror, though those are only working titles.
J'mapelle francais aussi--mais ce tres difficile. (Okay, I think I made a pig's ear of that spelling.)
*The character isn't called Gracie Adams--I'm keeping her real name private because I'm paranoid about people stealing it--it's pretty cool.
