Help (again)!
I'm finished with my novel (whoopie and all) and now I've got to get into editing: the part I hate. I've put too much plot into it in the beginning, and now I've got to go through and take some of it out (some of which is still important and has to be reweaved in). The thing is, I want to get to work on other ideas, and I'm a little lazy with editing, and so I don't know whether all the work in changing this idea will be worth it. I know I've just got to bite the bullet and get started, but I don't know if it's going to be worth it in the end. If I can't get it published; if it sucks; if I should try another idea.
I don't know exactly what help I need. But if you have tips to face the editing job or just have moral support to offer, I would be most indebted to you all.
Thank you!

I really don't know how much help I can offer but (you probably do this) when editing, copy the document into another word file and save it as "Edited_TitleofBook". That way, if you really don't like your edited version, you always have the old one to go back to. Also, don't stress yourself too much! Editing is a big job. If you want to work on other stuff or seem to be drifting away from the task, start working on your other piece and edit just a little every day.
Good luck! I bet your book is awesome! Maybe you could even share an excerpt or two with us when you're finished. :)

You can totally edit your novel, and I'm sure it's going to be awesome!
I've found an easy way to edit is to print out the rough draft and just retype it into a Word Document. You just end up automatically fixing it as you go along.

Thanks for the advice; I now have three editing word docs and am typing things furiously (well, I should be, but I'm here instead.)
And yes, Elizabeth, I will totally post a little bit when I'm done!
