BLAZING BEGINNING

BLAZING BEGINNINGS--

The opening sentences of soon-to-be novels

I have made so many threads today! :)

Anywaaaays.................................

All you do is write opening scenes or sentences that could possibly start a soon-to-be novel.

Here's mine:

Jason looked swiftly behind him, making sure that no one was following. Sighing with relief, he slipped into a deserted alleyway. Now for the hard part, he thought. The part that could go wrong. The part that could get him in trouble. The part that could ruin his whole career....

Cool!

We all knew why he was here, the same reason everybody else was, but we asked anyways and the answer hurt just as much. Of course he was only here because we promised free money, our talent didn't matter to him in the slightest...

@ Vivianna:

Why did you copy my location? Anyway...

Darkness fell suddenly over Queen Street. It came quicker than a rain cloud, and with much more sinister portant than a thunderstorm. The people vanished into their houses like rabbits into the warren. Alisa knew this was going to be no ordinary afternoon.

(c) Me. This is going to be in a new short story. If anyone tries to steal it......

This is from a story I'm writing... I think.... you never know, I might use it for something else. I really like the whole intro, but here's the first paragraph:

When most people pick up a book, the first thing they do is look at it’s cover, and then quickly jump to an assumption to what the book is about and if they’ll like it or not. For example, if you picked up a book with a picture of a large frog standing over a cityscape, you might assume that the book was about a mutant frog that terrorized New York, even if it was actually the tale of a young girl that sought out the truth that she was almost positive she had spotted one day, looking out the window, right in the middle of her breakfast.

That sounds really intriguing! You should post it all on here (like a new thread?), because you've got me hooked! I want to read more!

The flourescent lighting flickered three times before it finally died leaving poor Tabbitha alone in the room with nothing but her thoughts and the soft puffs of breath her dog let out.

I don't actually know where this is taking place-kinda just like the way it sounds.
