Chatterbox: Inkwell

Genre Game!

This is a game I learned at a writing workshop. I come up with a scenario (we can switch off), and each person gets a genre. A well-known genre--not something like Space Opera that not everyone might be familiar with. Then, each person has to write the scenario in their genre.

Example:

Scenario: Bob is picking up a banana.
Genre: Mystery
Writing: "Hold it right there, Bob!" Detective Billy shouted. "That banana is valuable evidence." Bob, startled, dropped the banana and ran. Billy looked closer. His handiwork...the way he was peeling... "Of course!" the detective cried out."Bob is the murderer!"

or...

Genre: Sci-fi
Writing: Bob picked the banana off the ground of the space station. It had floated there because of the low gravity of space. He ate it anxiously, knowing that in just a few minutes, he would be forced to pilot a small ship to Jupiter...

Yes, I made them both very cheesy because they are examples. Now it's your turn! If you're interested, post to this thread and I'll give everyone a genre. Then I'll pick a ranodm scenario. All genres and scenarios will be drawn out of my fedora.
