Okay, this is where we are going to talk about the thing. Throw out ideas and I will write them in a notebook to keep track.
So Far:
-Trolls v. Yoopers
-DW-esque space-time suspension

I will also keep a notebook to keep track of things.
So, for our characters we will have to have some Yoopers and some Trolls. For each type we should have some common characteristics like height, number of hands, eyes or other features, powers (if any), or other characteristics like that.
Some characteristic ideas for Yoopers:
on the taller side, dark deepset eyes, able to communicate with forest plants and creatures, small eyes, some type of accent, straighter hair, beards for men (no mustaches)...
Some characterisitic ideas for Trolls:
on the shorter side, persuasive, almond shaped eyes, curlier hair...
These are just suggestions for characteristics and each character doesn't have to completely follow the characteristics.
Would you like to add more characteristics to the list? Then, we can start making characters.
Another question: What style of writing are we doing ( first person, third person, diary type, or just writing it)?

I was thinking typical third-person-present-tense, because that's the kind of writing that I use most often, but if you don't sit well with present I can do past.
I swear I am going to draw these guys! Geh! Also, we should draw up some profiles. Here's one for a person who's been bouncing around my head a bit (it's all up for debate at the moment):
Name: Lionel Fordsworth
Kin: Troll
Age: Eh?
Appearance: Tall, has curlyish bleached-blond hair and red eyes. As in, freaking red eyes.
Personality: Not too clear on that yet. Basically... insubordinate, a bit of a jerk, but a nice guy if he's on your side (which is difficult, as he changes often).

Third person is fine. I'm pretty flexible.

Umm... what should we do about age? I noticed that you were wondering about the age too. Should we do a variety of ages or stick to teens, adults, etc.

I like to work with a variety of ages. Adults react to certain situations differently then teenagers do than children do then old people do. I was thinking Lionel could be more on the maturer side of teenager-hood or something. Human years = 20, give or take.

Ability: can converse with wild life
Appearance: tan skin from countless days in the sun, deep inquisitive brown eyes, brown hair that is usually in two plaits, a buckskin dress, a woolen cloak for winter (very harsh winters), short
Personality: shy around strangers, friendly, gentle, passionate, once you get to know her she will play harmless jokes on people and she will be more animated
