Team writing
Hey, everyone! I'm introducing something new: Team Writing! So, we pick a genre or subject for each Team Writing thread, pair ourselves in teams of two, and each team writes a story together! First, the team discusses ideas, then one of the two in the pair writes the story, and the two in the team take turns revising it until they're both satisfied.
The genre in this Team Writing thread is Fantasy! Wizards and Goblins and Warty Little Trolls... or some other sort of fantasy.
I'd like to invite Theo or BHR to be my partner! Whichever one of them agrees first will be my partner. If neither agree, I'll find someone else.

Sorry! I haven't been able to respond because I was traveling in a car without internet.
So, onto our story! I have two ideas: one is pretty crazy and the other is, well, normal. If you don't like any please suggest your own, or if you want to expand on one just tell me.
Idea A: Since the topic for this team writing is fantasy and we are both from Michigan, we could do a story based on Trolls and Yoopers. ( What would a Yooper look like anyways? ) I'm not sure about the plot. There could possibly be a tension between the two like over land, water, magic item, person... or it could be like a legend. The other plot idea could be that they both were on bad terms and need to somehow work to together to save something.
Idea B: This idea could be about some mythical creature that helps a child who is struggling or something along those lines.

I like Trolls vs. Yoopers! I was thinking they could both be some kind of magical creature of questionable alliance, and I can totes draw some pinups for random characters. What say you?

I say that it sounds like a good plan! Are we going to have this take place in the past, present, future or none of the above?
(April 12, 2013 - 10:38 am)
NONE OF THE ABOVE!! :D
Doctor-Who-esque shenanigans get our luvverly characters suspended in the space-time continuum!

Ok! So, now should we work on characters or figure out 'the questionable alliance'?

I think we should open a separate thread for talking about it, so we don't get all confused. I can get on that.

That sounds like a good idea. Can you tell me what the thread is called?
(April 13, 2013 - 6:37 pm)
Never mind I found it.

Me too!

I'd like to join.

Sorry JDD! Nano is keeping me really busy. Hmm. I rather like that! Perhaps it could be a mix of cultures, time periods, abd general fantasy? Such as old cottages, castles, irish music, and gnomes, trolls, fairies and the like. Just a random reference. What do you think?
(April 5, 2013 - 8:46 pm)
I think that seems cool. I'll put up more elaborate thoughts on it later.

How about our central hero is someone who, unlike the other inhabitants of the world, is painfully ordinary and so is shunned by everyone else?
(April 6, 2013 - 12:35 pm)
Yeah, I like that. Maybe we could have a hero and heroine? Like underdog characters. They depend on each other. Then a disease or some such thing could sweep through world, and they could be the only ones not affected? Or war could be on their doorstep? Anything really.

Yeah, I like those concepts. And the hero and heroine thing sounds good. You can make up the herione, who will probably be (surprise!) blonde. Here's my hero profile. You can make changes to it if you want.
Name: Dewey Lloyd
Age: 15 going on 16
Species: Warlock
Abilities: Can cast spells, but is not an extroardinarily accomplished warlock
Personality: Mischevious and untrustworthy
What he likes to do: Play pranks using magic such as changing the color and/or design of someone's underwear or causing bird poop to explode on the victim when they go to clean it up
Relatives: He has a sister he lives with (you can make up the sister!) but does not know she's his sister
Hmm... so what should the whole conflict be? I do like the disease thing.
