Has anybody done

Has anybody done NaNoWriMo 2012? I did, and I won. My novel is still coming from the publishing place, though. It's really fun, but it's only in November.Cry November is awesome!Smile

I've done last year and last summer, too. It's not just in November! Camp NaNo's coming in April and I'm excited.

My novel this past November was fairly good (it's got a coherent plot, at least, and I don't feel like killing off the main character every other page, which is a plus for me, sadly) and I'm currently entrenched in editing. 50000 words is a LOT. There are so many pieces I have to pull out and stick somewhere else, or some that I need to eradicate entirely, and I've been pulling whole sequences out of thin air to fill in gaping plot holes.

What's your novel about? Mine circulates around dimension hopping, other worlds, personal poltergeists with ADD, Buckston the guy-who-is-a-table-but-not-from-IKEA, Spanish ghost widow ladies with hatchets, a guy who is made entirely of water, a shapeshifter who pretends to be a crabby old writer, and a shady cat.

Yava says htyb.

I've never done NaNoWriMo, but I know people who have and it sounds awesome. And L, your novel sounds really cool! You should post some here when you're done editing.

Also TOP.

Okay, I need details! I only recently discovered NaNo! I want to know everything about it! I want to know how to enter, what I have to do, (besides write a 5000 word novel), and how to win. I've trying LIKE MAD to get published! So, if you could supply any info, I would be greatful! I've tried looking it up, but can't get any straightforward answers! Please!

Go to the website nanowrimo dot org. Sign-up instructions are on the right-hand side, unless they changed the layout recently, and it will tell you everything you ever needed to know. Although I would start on campnanowrimo dot org, because that one starts in April.

Okay! I just signed up for Camp Nano! So excited! Now, if anyone else is doing this, it was talking about "cabin preferences", and camper profile. What all is that? And what do I say or do? If anyone can help, I'd be grateful!

Camper profile is just how people know you on the site. You can put as much or as little on it as you want.

Oooooooooooooooh, cabin preferences. The cabins are people that help you through the month. You can pick people to be in your cabin or have it just be random. Search for me! My username is Bang. Yes, it's silly. No judging.

Do you have to be 13 to do Camp?

Is Camp NaNo in the summer, too?  Because I thought it was in July or August...

and that April was Script Frenzy.

Sorry. More question from the clueless to the experienced (sheepish look)!

1.) How do I plan my novel?

2.) What do I do about a cover?

Thanks!

@Gollum Camp NaNo was in June and August last year, but they changed the earlier one to April because people wanted to change it.

@BHR I wouldn't plan my novel until March or so, because that's when the re-boot is. If you make it now you'll have to start all over again when they go through and add everything back in. When it comes time to plan, though, you just need to type up a quick synopsis and excerpt of your novel, categorize it into a genre, and come up with a title. I wouldn't worry too much about the cover, either - you can have a novel without any of these elements and still be able to track your progress. I usually throw something together in Paint and it works.

I'll request you. @Blond Heroines Rule I can't find anybody with your penname. I'll look again, but is it any different from what it says there or what?
