@ Mattie- I think I heard that you were going to Hamburg over Thanksgiving. If so, how was it?

OMG!!! Sorry, I forgot to answer you back when I told you I was going...like months ago!!
To answer your question-
It was AMAZING!!!!! Only we didn't go to Munich. *pout* Too far south. We stayed in Hamburg one subway stop away from where our aunt and uncle live. And two hours on the Autobahn away from all the other relatives in Langenhagen and Grossburgwedel (where my dad was born!!) and Hanover. I wish I could have met you, only we didn't go to Munich and yeah...But it was still reaaaalllly awesome...even though we only stayed for a week. My favorite place was probably Berlin. The Brandenburg Gate- just breathtaking. And ALL the art museums...my mom and sister are art-history enthusiasts so naturally they were in their element....

Wow! That sounds so great! I'm so glad you liked Germany. I have been to Berlin before, though I don't remember the trip very well. Hamburg is a fishing/port city, right? I guess I should check myself. :) Did you pick up any German? :D If you ever get the chance to visit again, you really should! I would love to meet you sometime.

Yes! It was awesome! I'm considering doing a second senior year at a school near Bonn, and I really want to. I picked up enough German to order in restaurants and ask where the bathroom was, but my dad did most of the negotiations. :) I would love to meet you too- and Hamburg is a port city, yes, we took a really interesting tour of the harbor. It's HUGE!!!!
And here's a question or two- do you think in German or English? Were you born in Germany?

Bonn?! Wow! That's supposed to be really nice. My Dad's been there quite a few times and it supposed to have a very nice University.
I think in English, though sometimes I start thinking in German when I think about conversations at school and what I could have said. And no, I wasn't born in Germany; I moved here a few years ago. :)
