RP about fairies meeting
RP about fairies meeting people! Someone can be the person who finds them or her friends, or fairies. This is what your profile should look like. This is mine.
Name: Genevieve-Rose
Gender: girl
Appearance: Red wavy longish hair, pale skin, small, skinny, pretty wings, some freckles.
Age: 12
Other: Parents are dead and lives with her granny. All fairies have special powers so she has flowers bloom, water power, air power, and something else that she doesn't know yet because all fairies have a big power they discover later.

Has anyone heard of the book Night Fairy? If not, here's a summary:
A young fairy (a night fairy; meaning she is nocturnal and loves darkness......night fairies are pretty much the bats of the fairy world) gets her wings torn off when a bat mistakes her for a bug. The book is the story of her recovery and adventures she has during her time without wings (her wings start to grow back at the end of the book).
So I want to be a night fairy (nocturnal fairy) if that's ok.
Name: Lilith (meaning spirit of the night)
Age: 13 fairy years... I don't know how many human years (do fairies age the same as humans?)
Appearance: medium-brown skin, gold-brown eyes (that glow bright gold-- like a cat's eyes glow-- when she's mad) and ankle length, dark brown, wavy hair.
"Fairy Powers": umm.....she can move and create stars when she wants to, can control night breezes (air power but only at night), and can communicate with bats, spiders, and [everybuggy's going to like this one] crickets! ;)
*********************
Hope this is ok! :)

Sounds cool! I'll join.
Name: Holly
Age: 12 in fairy years
Appearance: Brown-glod hair, pale skin, green eyes
Fairy powers: Can talk to owls and make plants sprout.
Note: Her parents are captured by humans, and she lives with an owl.
(October 6, 2011 - 3:51 pm)
Name: Brendon (means prince in Irish)
Gender: Boy
Appearance: Windblown brown hair, tan skin, a bit large, brown/tannish clothes, gray wings. A splash of freckles across his nose, upturned ears, laughing eyes.
Age: 14
Other: He can communicate with animals, but particularly with ground squirrels, though any animal will do. He can fly pretty fast. He can predict some forms of weather, though not very well. He's a really great singer, and sometimes he sings the squirrels asleep in the winter. He's descended from ancient royalty, though no one but his great grandfather knows, and he's about to die.

Oh this is so cool! I love fairies/faeries! Have you ever read the Dreamdark series by Laini Taylor??
@Kim: I have heard of the Night Fairy! I've never read it, though.
Name: Freya Doryanthes
Gender: girl
Appearance: Bright, long, creamish-yellow hair; pale skin; crimson lips; crimson wings; glowing blue eyes.
Age: 16
Fairy powers: Can talk to crickets, ladybugs, woodpeckers, and hares; sings water ("feels" where water is, where it "wants" to go, and can make it go, to an extent, where she wants it to). Her unknown power is yet to be revealed.
Other: She has a cloak of feathers. She can wrap it up like a bag and put things in it, or put things in its pockets, whisper to it where she wants it to go, and it will fly there.

~~Freya~~
Night. It was night. She clutched her side, trying to calm her breathing. Her ears were ringing from the noise. Oh! the horrible noise they had made! The harpies had to make the most terrible screeches in the world.
It was autumn, the orange and brown leaves scattered across the forest floor, winter advancing quickly. Her breath made steamy spirals in front of her face. She wrapped the feather coat close about herself and peeked her head from around the tree. Left; right; to the sky. Nothing. She could see no living thing around the forest.
She let out a sob, burying her chin in her chest. How could she have been so deserting like that? She had panicked and hid herself, leaving her group and friends to the hawks, falcons, and harpies.
But she knew they weren't dead, though that made her feel no better. For she knew they were a stubborn bunch and would not give in, no matter what the consequence, and would be very gone very soon.
She quickly wiped away her tears haphazardly, straightened up, and shook awake her frigid arms. She could not pity her shameful self, she could not even allow herself to pity her friends: there was no time for it. If she really wanted to see her friends again, she would have to go as fast as she could to the lair of Athenstrix.

This is my second character:
Name: Drimys Vriesea
Gender: boy
Age: 16
Appearance: lanky, messy black hair; average skin tone; astonishingly white wings; eyes that change from yellow to a magentaish-purpley color
Fairy powers: Hums to roots- he can "feel where roots are, where they "want" to grow, and make them grow where he wants them to (to an extent, for he does not have full mastery over his powers just yet); talks to weasels, foxes, badgers, chipmunks, squirrels. His unknown power is yet to be revealed.
Other: likes the cold; likes to dye his hair dark green in spring and summer, and white in winter.
(October 7, 2011 - 2:56 pm)
~~Drimys~~
The music reverberated around the ring of mushrooms as the the fairies played their flutes and stringed instruments. The rest of the fairies sung along to the ballads and danced around in flurries of hair and clothing. The youngest of the Vriesea boys was doing flips through the congested area, much to the displeasure of almost everyone, but a few other boys followed after him, laughing as they went. The Vriesea paused only to look back at the other boys following. He heard girls giggling and saw that they were watching them.
He jumped aside as one of the boys that had been following him flipped right towards where he was standing. The boy crashed into him and the Vriesea likewise crashed onto the table of nectar, spraying everyone within the radius witht the sticky substance. The instrumental fairies stopped for once, long enough for the poor boy to hear his mother call, "Drimys!" His older brothers sniggered into their sleeves, far enough away from their mother to be sure she could not hear them. But Drimys did. Crystal clear.
Drimys got up and shook his hair, which was now only green at the ends. The crowd shrank back as the nectar from his hair sparkled in the air around them.
No one was looking at the boy that had crashed into him, everyone was looking at him, the boy dripping in nectar, the boy that had splashed them all with it.
All of a sudden everyone was laughing, but he was not laughing with them. They thought it was funny to be humiliated, something he was used to, and something they were not. How easy it is to think badly of someone when what they are put through is something you are not used to being put through yourself. The band begun to play again, twice as merrily.
His mother called his name again, but Drimys did not look her way. He tried not to look anyone's way as he ran from the ring, shrinking into the shadow of a mushroom. He drew up his knees and dug his eyes into them.
They took no notice that he had gone from their midst. They never did when he tried to escape their laughing and leering faces.
He didn't belong with them, he had known it for some time. He knew what he wished to do, to run away. He glanced behind his shoulder to see his wings were too wet to fly with. He would have to go on foot tonnight.
He looked behind himself once, and started quietly towards the forest.

Shaylene~
The first time I caught a glimpse of a fairy was the old house. We lived rather close to the city, but far enough away that every house had a huge backyard. Ours was a sanctuary from the nightmares that plagued me at night. In them, a young girl the size of Thumbelina begs me to stay. When I say no, the blackness of the woods close in on me.
I hated the dark. I could never sleep without my two lamps and three nightlights on. Hey, at least I didn't keep the overhead light on, too! The nightmares just made me even more apprehensive.
One day, I woke up from a nightmare and went to the tent we kept out there. A warm breeze from the ocean flowed through it, getting the door stuck on a tree. I went outside and saw a fairy, dancing in the wind.
She smiled at me. "I'm the only one here, but I know you'll help a colony of us one day," she whispered. Shocked, I nodded. She looked pleased with me as she vanished.
(October 8, 2011 - 12:42 pm)
//Brendon//
A splash of water flew onto my face but I continued flying. Fayon and I were racing to see who could reach the border of the colony first, and I had to win, at least this one time. "Tired yet, Brendon?" he called out behind me. I risked a glance and saw that he was close enough to touch my feet. I put on another burst of speed, though my wings were tiring, and fast. Suddenly, the huge oak tree that marked our border appeared ahead of me. I glanced back again and Fayon was nearing still. Victory was so close, just a wing width away. Using the last bit of energy I had, I charged forward, and gracefully landed on the closest branch. "Hah. I told you that acorns make you faster." He rolled his eyes and joined me on the branch. We were looking out, past the border, and to the land beyond. No fairy had dared venture out of the border, because here we were under the safety spell that some old fairy had cast on us a billion years ago. Nearby, a few brave fairies were harvesting some nuts and roots for the upcoming Harvest Feast. Though, across the Meadow, there was a big...square thing. And...and there was this, animal outside of it. It was hideous! There were no wings, for one, so how was it supposed to fly! It's face was, ugh! It was huge and hideous and terrifying and ugh. What was it?! And why was it on our territory!?

Just for a heads-up, Roth isn't very nice. I've read too much Holly Black faeries.
