You know how bunches of the people who came here first are like "I remember..." and stuff? Well, now here's a thread for it. :) So, say what you remember about Cricket.

 

 

Well, I remember when the entire BaB was filled up with Warrior RPs, and you could hardly talk about anything else becaue it'd be bumped to the bottom. xD

I remember that, too! I remember all the interesting changes in average age, too--there were always lots of outliers, but when I arrived, the most common ages were 12, 13, and 14; then it was 13, 14, and 16, then 14, 15, and 16, then... I'm not sure, but now it's younger, like it was when I first joined. It's just interesting.

I remember the Round Robin Era.

Heh, that's true, the age seriously varies on here. And I'm 11. *is young*

 

 

I remember the Round Robin era also, though now you could hardly find one. Now we just talk about random stuff.

After being on here for almost two years, I still can't enlargen the smilies...

I remember when Inkwell was more or less alive. And the CB in general.

I remember the crazy debates and the "how-to" thread phase and the days of endless smileys.  I remember the days when I used to read through the threads and feel awkward that I hadn't joined and yet knew everyone really well.  But that's about me, not the CB.  I remember when there were a few 'instant post' sessions, where we could all post and the posts would go up immediately.  Admin, will we ever get to do those again?  I never got to participate in those, but they looked fun.

 

No one has asked about Live Chats or whatever we called them for a long time. The problem is that we Admins all have so many other things to do it's hard to know for sure if we'll be able to post comments at a specified time. And it's hard to find one time that is good for all the interested people. I usually post on weekday evenings, but times vary. Monday is always late because I have an orchestra rehearsal. (You play violin, too, right? We're doing Beethoven violin concerto for our next concert, and it's so beautiful! I just got home from rehearsal.)

Do you mean something like a chat but on CB?

 

I would just announce a few days ahead of time that we'd have an Instant Chat (or Live Chat, or whatever we called it) that I'd be online posting for at least 30 to 60 minutes on a specific day beginning at a certain time. So if you submitted a comment right then it would be posted asap. You could submit comments to any thread, as I remember. The chats were never overly busy and the comments fairly short, so it was easy for me to keep up. What is not so easy is for me to say in advance when I'd be able to do that again!
