HAPPY CANADA DAY!

HAPPY CANADA DAY!
HAPPY CANADA DAY!
I remembered this a few hours after I woke up when my mom was freaking out because William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, would be on TV.
So. I know most people on here aren't Canadian but how are you celebrating Canada Day? My family doesn't really... care. Much. But we went to the lakefront earlier today, however, I don't know why. Oh, and we're going to watch a fireworks show later tonight. Hopefully I'm able to get some sleep when I come home, but quite a few people in the neighbourhood like to launch their own fireworks so...
I'm going to an outdoor band concert tonight. I'll think of Canada. I love "Oh Canada."

I don't celebrate Canada since I live in the U.S.A. (go U.S.A!) but happy Canada Day. What I'm really psyched for is Independance Day which is on the Fourth of July. It's sooo fun! There are TONS of Firework shows and marching band, concerts and all kinds of parties. I'm going to the beach!
Independance Day was when Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence was signed and sent to Britain and England proclaiming Independence to become their own country! Well there was the Reveloutionary War too but I don't like talking about wars...

We're trying to figure out how to celebrate the fourth here. They don't celebrate it so we don't get off... :( I really miss going to the fireworks and seeing the parade!
Happy Canada Day! What is it celebrating exactly?

What does Canada Day celebrate exactly? Since I don't live in Canada I don't really know.
