I have two wonderful guinea pigs, Gus and Floyd. I got them a few days before Easter. They're about 3 1/2 months old. They're a cross between the White Crested and the American.  I might post pictures soon!

Here's a factoid : guinea pigs are also known as cavies.

Does anyone else have guinea pigs?

Oh! I have a friend who owns two guinea pigs. They're so cute; giant balls of fluff that move and eat! IMHO I think they're better than hamsters since guinea pigs don't smell as much... :P

I don't have guinea pigs, but I know someone who does. They're awesome. They make fascinating noises. Please do post pictures!

Here's another factoid: Some scientists actually divide rodents into 3 suborders: mouselike rodents, squirrel-like rodents, and cavy-like rodents. At least, last time I checked. The book I read that from has been around for years and is not entirely up-to-date. For instance, it was written before the bajis went extinct. :('

I don't have guinea pigs, my library used to... but about a year ago the cage and its inhabitants mysteriously disappeared :(
