Chatterbox: Down to Earth
I know we've had a debate about cell phones but I was reading something and I thought it would be interesting to see what your answers are.
1. Do you think cell phones should be allowed at schools?
Yes, but they must be turned off. It's just that some kids really need them to call their parents after school or something. They just shouldn't be on during school hours.
2. Do you act different online/while texting?
I think this is an interesting question but I don't know. . . . I think people who know me would have to figure that out.
3. Do you find it easier talking with friends or texting/chatting etc?
I like being with friends because you kind of get to see what they're thinking through their facial expressions and it's funnier.
4. If you have a fight with a friend is it easier to solve it through online activities or face to face?
Talking . . . I don't have much of a reason why.

I do those, too, except the saying, "like," though I don't do the flailing very often. Well, I think I have the same problem with putting things into words, but it depends on what you mean. I have the idea that I want to communicate in my heads, but I don't think in words, so I have to translate it, and for some reason, it takes me a really long time to translate. I suppose my processing skills are just really bad. I can't say whether I'm articulate in my head; my thinking process isn't one where you can really judge...

1. Do you think cell phones should be allowed at schools?
Yes, but like others have said, it should be turned off. Like, I have a bunch of friends and thier parents are divorced. Their mom would drop them off one day and their dad would pick them up. If they're switcing houses, shouldn't they get to bring their phone with them?
2. Do you act different online/while texting?
I honestly don't know. I don't think so...
3. Do you find it easier talking with friends or texting/chatting etc?
If everyone got a phone and only communicated with that, then we would all be stuck in our rooms like hermit crabs, screaming at daylight. Like if you're at the store, in a check out line. Texting, "Sir, that would be $5.00" "Thank you, here you are" *hands bill* "Thank you, come again." We would be living in a silent world. And, there would be no facial expressions. I mean, facial expressions is my favorite part of communicating.
4. If you have a fight with a friend is it easier to solve it through online activities or face to face?
No, no, no, no. If you really cared for the person your talking to's feelings, you would say it to their face.
