Chatterbox: Down to Earth

KAT ON EVERYBUGGY

KAT ON EVERYBUGGY WEEKEND:

I know the perfect Mountainous Woodsy place where a bunch of people can stay! Mountain Medow Girl Scout Camp near Estes Park, Colorado. It is available for non-girl scout stuff, in fact, I recently went to a wedding there (that was, by the way, the first and only wedding ever held there). I've also stayed there twice for girl scouts with my friends, and more than four adults. It has a main one-story building with plumbing, bathrooms, a kitchen and heating. It can easily accomodate all of us and a parent each (if that's what we decide on) with room to spare. We would all sleep in the same room on personal sleeping bags and there's even a fireplace (don't worry, it's safe) where we could toast marshmallows. We would have to pay, but I think if we all contributed, we could make it work!

Kat, this sounds like so much fun! This Admin would love to be one of your adults. However, our privacy rules won't allow you to actually organize a real trip on Chatterbox. Let's make it a virtual trip. When should we go? How about June? Will the grass be green then and some wildflowers in bloom? I've been to Estes Park and know it's the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Can we take hikes in the park every day? Let's make it early June before the summer crowds arrive!

Yea, I didn't think we could actually organize it on Chatterbox, it was a long shot that it would even get posted, but a virtual trip is an idea for chatterboxers! Maybe RP style... I don't have time now, but as soon as I do, I'll post as detailed a description as I can of Downtown Estes Park and MMGSC!

That sounds fun, Kat.  I think we've tried to plan things before, but it's just wayyy to difficult.  You guys could do it on Facebook, but then some of us would be left out (like myself) and then it would be totally unfair.  But a virtual hang out would be fun!! Let's make it like an SI, but without secret identities.

Let's do the virtual thing! It sounds fun!

Actually, though, I think that, if people don't mind, it might actually be a good idea to plan something on other site... We could use both Facebook and NaNo, to include more people, and those like R~D~ who don't have accounts on either could probably make one (I know many people here aren't allowed to make accounts on Facebook, but they probably could on NaNo, even if they don't want to actually do NaNo. Or else they can post on a CBer's blog and whoever owns the blog could e-mail them.

I think it would be fine, as long as our parents are involved and we're careful not to give out any personal information where people other than those we're contacting can see (so of course we can't give out any details here; anyone can see it). This would even include the dates it would tak place, since we know where it will be, and we don't want strangers to come, too.

I'm sure there will be people who won't be allowed to come, though, and there are definitely some who live too far away, and if they think it's unfair, we don't have to do it. But individual CBers have met eachother before, and no-one seemed to mind. This would just be more poeple.
