Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Since it's September
Since it's September 5th and summer is almost officially over, I wanted to make a thread so you can share some of your favorite memories of the summer. :D I had a really, really great summer, and I'm going to miss it, but I still have lots of memories to share. :) Well, I actually didn't do anything all that exciting this summer (like going on vacation or anything like that), but I spent nearly all of my time with friends. As you may or may not know, I live in a rural little area (only a couple minutes from town, but you get the idea), so all summer my brother and I and our friends spent most of the time hiking and finding new trails in the woods, sitting and talking by the lakes (which are actually small ponds, but we call them lakes), or swimming. It sounds very simple, but as a result I feel like I've gotten a lot closer to my friends over the summer (which is one of the reasons why this summer was so great :) ). We also had a few sleepovers where we ordered pizza, swam out late in the pool, and then stayed up late and watched scary and/or crazy movies off of Netflix. It was really a lot of fun. :) So, what did everyone else do this summer? Share your memories! :D

hmmm...well, the whole summer was pretty much great, but some highlights are.....
1. learning how to write a receipt at my mom's bookstore. =)
2. going to Michigan for 4 days, and just hanging out.
3. getting better at swimming at my local lake that is about 12 minutes away.
4. hanging out with friends.
5. reading my heart out.
I think that is about it.....Great Summer. School started on the 1st for me. I like my teacher, so that's good.
Claire. =D
P.S. Admins, join in!
Mr. Spammy says hwuc....How You See?
I see with my eyes Spammy, how do you see?
Highlights of my summer:
outdoor band concerts followed by frozen custard in a waffle cone
swimming laps with my friends at the outdoor park pool
a road trip to the Black Hills, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Park with lots of hiking and wildlife viewing
American Folklore Theatre performances "Life on the Mississippi" (about Samuel Clemens) and "Bone Dance" (ghost stories), both musical shows set outdoors in the woods

Sounds like you had a great summer, too, Claire. :D And you swam in a local lake? That's cool. There are a couple nice lakes near enough to us, but we don't go there often, and the lakes (ponds) down our street are to mucky to swim in. :\
Admin, your summer sounded really nice, too. :) I love doing outdoorsy things like that. :D
PS~ To the top. ;)

(September 10, 2010 - 1:48 pm)
Ooh, I forgot to ask, when did you go out of the country? You've probably already told me, I don't remember! :)
(September 10, 2010 - 1:49 pm)
@ Kimberly-yes, I got your letter and I'll be writing back soon. I went out of the country technically when I went to Niagra Falls because we had to cross the border into Canada. Heehee. I was only out of the country for like 9 hours. :P Pretty lame, I know. (but it counts!)
(September 10, 2010 - 10:23 pm)
Yay, I'm glad you got my letter! :) Ha, ha, I don't think that it's lame, I would love to go out of the country, if even for 1 hour. :) I would really like to go to Australia.....
(September 11, 2010 - 6:13 pm)
I went to New Hampshire and climbed Mt. Eisenhower, which was completely awesome!
Hmmm....I did a lot, but I can't think of much right now.
(September 9, 2010 - 5:20 pm)
Ooh, you climbed a mountain?? O.O That's neat. :)
